Mokaev got his grappling style from Ukraine, he’d spend his summers in Ukraine training with the Ukrainian world wrestling team. I’ve trained with him multiple times in the past before his ufc career when we were younger. I was just up multiple weight classes so we never wrestled. People forget before Brady randomly stalled like his gastank burst after driving for 5 minutes. He was actually piecing Belal up and jabbing his head off. Then round two he come out completely depleted and in a shell. It was weird but anyway Belal hasnt really destroyed anyone ever. People only seem to remember Leon getting caught slipping against Diaz but Leon TOTALLY shutdown and schooled Nate for 24 minutes like nobody was ever able to. Even Jorge after a 3 piece and a headkick volley in the 1st round and battering him for 10 minutes Nate was able to actually start hurting Jorge before it was stopped from the cuts. Leon absolutely shutdown Colby. nobody ever done that to him. He totally shutdown RDA when RDA was still confident and near his prime. Leon never got credit for his mindset and his focus that comes with his talent on the feet. He's slowly showed he's not just willing to learn to defend takedowns but his mindset encouraged him to actually grow and make grappling HIS STRENGH ALSO. look what he did to Gunna years ago and many decent grapplers. He took down Usman and only his mistake of wanting to beat Usman at what he does best instead of using his great defence and stand up he made the 2nd fight tough. But with a minute left he produced a headkick we will never forget and followed that by CORRECTLY USING HIS STRENGHS AGAINST USMAN TO BEAT HIM PRETTY EASY THE 3RD TIME. Leon at his best is a huge problem for anyone trying to get the title.
