Pretty simple… Aljo and Movsar are both high level grapplers that dominate and control on the ground, and that ain’t sexy. UFC wants highlights, not some grappling match on the main card. I actually hate that, and it sucks that grappling/wrestling is considered “boring” but 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ it is what it is. Also… I do think the UFC wants Aljo as far away from a title shot as they can put him, due to his past “dealings” with them.

I've known Aljo for years. Def would call him an acquaintance I've always been friendly with, partied with him, trained with him, interviewed him many times, commentated fights with him, most if not all who know him would say he is a good dude. Cracks jokes, drinks, smokes, has a good time and still trains like an animal. Always been cool, always been generous with his time. Guy deserves respect for what he has done in fighting. He is in the conversation for the greatest bantamweight of all time, is also 2 wins away from being in title contention at 145. He should be on the main card. I think the UFC's problem with Aljo is he thinks fighters should be paid more, which they should. That is why he is "difficult" or doesn't get his respect from the organization. He tried to avoid taking stupid fights and tried to get the most money possible. If the main card is displaying the best fighters or the most deserving, Weidman opens up the PPV, Aljo is the second fight. If Weidman is retiring win lose or draw he deserves his time to lay down his gloves. In no way shape or form should Bryce Mitchell, Kron Gracie, Landwher or Choi be above either of them, especially Aljo. None of them will ever be a champion, they will never even fight for a title. Aljo submits or 30-26's all 4 of them.

Fun depends on your enjoyment of wrestling/grappling dominant skill set fighters. I personally say yes I am a fan. Aljo has had some entertaining beat downs inflicted on him, and some really good back and forth action like with cejudo and the second Petr Yan title defense fight.
