why are youre thirties prime for heavyweights

@@BillyBobThorton777 Very Good question, well if we take the age between 27 & 34 , as the prime age for a MMA fighter, and by prime we mean both ( Physical shape & Mental/ experience) , and due to the different body composition of a heavyweight & the fact that they don't have to go through the same brutal weight cut issue, the mean age of a heavyweight & of a HW champion tends to be a little bit higher, and we can notice that thru the HW history in the UFC ,plus they don't need that exact fitness/cardio level, as lighter weight classes, because they don't move as much in a fight & rely more on power, and usually pack more fat, lighter weights have to stay extremely fit, with lower body fat, to be able to keep fighting at their weight classes, and that becomes harder to do as you age!

People act like Overeem ran through him and while it was a beautiful performance, my personal highlight is 0:54 where they are engaged in thai clinch Sergei immediately starts blocking the body because Overeems knees to the solar plexus end fights, Overeem adjusts for the trip which led to the dominant position that ended the fight, I think some should appreciate Sergei's impressive striking performance previous, he was landing heavy shots this fight against an already legend, just that one mistake of being overly cauitious protecting the body ended the fight, if it stayed standing honestly its 50/50 for me on who wins
@seanc7990 Жыл бұрын
good analysis, Sergei defended the trip attempt earlier in the fight but he was trying to defend body shots and overeem caught him with his leg up and threw him off balance, it was a dumb mistake and overeem is a very good grappler so he finished sergei on top. On the feet it seemed sergei was making overeem a bit uncomfortable and one of his right hands made overeems move back immediately, I think he'd win now with more experience
