Justin looked unbelievable against Tony and I'm not one who believes Tony just had an off night. His punches were really sharp and his power was clearly great. I always said that the two guys that on paper could give Khabib a real run for his money were Gaethje and Kevin Lee. Kevin has had a lot of setbacks lately but skillset wise those are the only two. Nobody has really shot on Justin hard during his UFC career so hopefully this time that he has spent prepping for Khabib will be enough, he really has to watch out for the uppercut though, he has been caught with that a few times.

@Navek Ydeer but Khabib is not dumb enough to keep it on the feet. His tactic will be the same. Tire you out then when he tires you out smash you. Justin is capable of beating Khabib especially now since he might have gone through depression, but that doesn't guarantee Justin a win. No one has beat Tony like Justin but Justin has never wrestled anyone like khabib and wrestling someone in another weight division is not the same because they aren't punching you and hurting you while wrestling.

@Navek Ydeer with all that said I hope Justin wins because I like the underdog, but if my money was on the line I'd go with Khabib. If it goes 5 rounds you better believe the judges will say Khabib won because vegas is in on it. So Khabib has a double advantage if it goes the distance unless Khabib is beat like Tony each round which is very unlikely to happen. When you are tired defending wrestling after wrestling and grappling so long even your punches are not as effective and I think Khabib will go in there and not allow Justin to get a quick knock out. His first two rounds will be focused on draining Justin's tank the last few rounds it will be Khabib. If justin takes the Al approach and stuffs take down after take down and some how forces Khabib to stay on the feet Justin can win for sure.

gsp was just as dominant but back then it was frowned upon to wrestle every time. gsp got a lot of heat back then for wrestling so much but he pummeled every one when he did. he only got in trouble when he listened to people to keep on his feet and even then he generally dominated. gsp and khabib very similar fighting skills and I.Q.

What is the most underrated thing about Khabib is his striking movement and speed. He was way faster than Mcgregor, he was almost always a step forward. Gaethje has power but with power you move a bit slower. If this stays on the feet for a bit it'll be brawler(Gaethje) vs counter striker (Khabib). On the ground 100% Khabib. Both wrestled since they were so young but one continued that path to a higher level and the other abandoned that path for a different one.

But here's the thing about gaethje's wrestling, he did american foklstyle wrestle. While he was great at it and faced collegiate greats including jordan burroughs, folkstyle has certain limitations in mma. It's really good for a ground and pound style and being on top, but justin doesnt trybto get on top. He almost exclusively uses his wrestling in a defensive way, and if he gets taken down he's probably staying down cause khabib can lock his hands on top and be a wet blanket, two things you cant do in folkstyle wrestling

If Justin can make every second count at the beginning of each round he might just be able to pull off the upset. He's just going to have to put his chin down go forward and try to knock his head off. I think at some point he needs to be careful about expending all his energy trying to get up and just basically be comfortable off his back pulling guard and just trying to prevent ground and pound from khabib
