UFC has killed the media. Influencers, ‘content’ and shills are the future.

I have to agree with you. The loss of Marc Raimondi and Steven Morroco were huge hits to the journalistic side of the sport.

I enjoyed MMA more from 2005 to 2010 than now. It was way more popular in 2010 to 2013 than now.

2008-2012 was the era when I became a fan, halfway through 2012 I decided to become part of the media. There have been extreme highs and lows of my engagement since then.

Influencers are what people want precisely because they aren't shills, they don't get invited to event anyways so they don't have to appease the UFC and say good things to get invited like the media

Have you not seen that Barstool gets invited not only to events but into Dana White's hotel room. He's been giving them one on one interviews for years.

I disagree that they're more transparent. Iole masquerades as a journalist while Barstool, Nina Drama, and other newer people I don't even know about yet hide behind a facade of just being fun and making content, so they shouldn't be held to any standards. But at the end of the day they're all serving the same corporate interests.

@@ChrisRini i agree the names you listed are all shills but I don't even see them as influencers cos they're all pretty much industry plants, this Nina drama girl is related to dana that's the only reason she has the job she does her first interviews she was legit clueless about what mma even is

@@ChrisRini in comparison to someone like mma guru, I don't really like/watch him cos he doesnt give near enough respect to the fighters, but at least he's not a shill and is honest when the Ufc is being shady
