So in other words, UFC isn't legal in NYC because Dana doesn't want to lose money paying more fighters due to the union? I could be wrong of course but that's what it sounded like to me. And if i'm right then this is truely sad.

Unions always use political force to try and maximize their power, usually it means deliberately limiting competition. Such is the case here too. The problems in Greece right now, same thing, too much corruption, every business you can think of is licenced, some get paid ridiculous amounts, some not, and none of it's connected to what you can produce or how well you treat the customers. Biggest thing it causes is the unemployment. Unions are just another political instance that play that game.

@goozbaghali i agree, if you want to build up mma over the long term, those smaller name fighters need to get more money, so they can concentrate on their training and just worry about fighting. How can you train full time, if you have a family to support and possibly have to work at a day job, because you get paid some 2 grant for an undercard fight. It's ridiculous. And if you get injured, forget about it. Well at least they came up with the insurance plan, but still a lot has to change!
