Calling this "domination" is ridiculous, ufc. If the fight had been 5 rounds, Velasco probably would've won with how tired Mueller was. Someone needs to get Velasco some real striking training, because if she had that, she'd probably have put Mueller away by the end of the second round. She already has a ton of heart, so she'd probably go far with better striking.

Hearing the commentators saying "these girls" seems very.. derogatory. "Girls" is complimentary when referring to grown women, except in certain situations, like where they have a physical disadvantage compared to men (not 'boys') who fight, and they have to try hard to prove that they are worthy of being called fighters and that they are co-equal with men in this arena. Calling them 'girls' must be an additional psychological assault that they have to put up with as they try to fight as valiantly as possible, albeit in a girlie style.

This was a total mismatch. Velasco can sure take a ton of punishment... she has heart but very slow, gangly and needs much more power and striking skills to keep opponents. You can see great coaching and training in fighters. You can also see inadequate coaching and training in fighters. Velasco either needs to fine a new coach/trainer or a new sport. Yeah, I know she is married to one of them.

The difference is, when Mueller would get hit she would eat it and keep it pushing. When Velasco got hit, she immediately retreated and couldn't handle the onslaught. Showed toughness tho. Velasco definitely showed more heat as the fight went on.
