The idea that martial arts started in Asia is historically incorrect, the Greeks did Pankration back in 648 BC which was very similar to modern MMA (grappling and boxing) and Greco-Roman wrestling goes back to Greek mythology. Nuba Wrestling my predate them all, it goes back to the Egyptian dynastic period.

@mmaandrew13 brazilian jujitsu comes from japanese jujitsu when carlso gracie was taught by Mitsuyo Maeda, a Japanese emigrant to Brazil who was then a 4th dan Kodokan judoka. Maeda was taught by the father of jujitsu: Kanō Jigorō

RADIATION EVERYWHERE!!!, wouldn't be suprised if the fighters on this card start getting washed up early due to radiation sickness.

I see what your saying.. but your basically boiling it down to Martial Arts being a divine secret only given to Asian styles Just as judokas had dojos and kung fu was practiced in temples with MA discplines dsnt mean this lifestyle was exclusive to those regions Persians practice traditional wrestling ( greco-roman etc.) till today in Zoorkhoones (gym) were fighters r taught strength and grappling alongside with disciplines like Javanmardi ( hivalry/ piety) - most other nations wld be the same!
@hzrdswun12 жыл бұрын
martial arts oldest forms are in Greece and Persia in terms of wrestling and the likes ( well documented in history).. persians/egyptians/nubians have been wreslting and striking for over 5000 years with training houses similar to Dojos etc. The truth of the matter is martial arts was invented by humans and basically each culture has developed their own - the more militarily advanved or under threat nations were the more need for a martial art

I speak Japanese. Dana's sarcasm both flew over the head of the translator and was simultaneously ignored by her. She didn't translate "thanks for insulting me" at all because there's no way that would make sense in Japanese. And when the Japanese guy said he was fat, Dana said thanks for noticing, the Japanese translator said it directly with no sense of irony whatsoever (coz it doesn't exist in Japan rofl). Overall must be hilarious being a translator and doing whatever the fuck u want.

@theundeadbatman PART I: my last response to the youtube couchfighter-morons, (if I start this once, it`s unlikely to end quickly), so read carefully how I destroy your argument. You will undoubtedly respond with a new, and just as invalid and crappy argument, but I wont respond to the next one anymore. - There is no separate category for strikes to the head/body/kicks and all the other possible attacks, so it doesnt matter if Diaz had more strikes to this or that, what matters
@Chevalier76512 жыл бұрын
@mrJoe8423 Don't be sorry, you have your opinion. I agree that Henderson was more dangerous twice (choke and the heel kick) and his punches were stronger but, I don't agree concerning the numbers. Edgar is so fast that at each clinch, he can land 3 or 4 punches. Moreover, i don't remember how many times, Edgar throws Henderson like a puppet on the ground. I watched this fight in a french television and the commentators were very surprised of the result too.

@Leonidas3888 UFC Japan was pretty damn good last night. I do think there are too many events now though for the UFC but hey alot of them are free so cant complain. Pride events were great, but thats because they didnt put on so many events and were able to create the stacked cards. UFC was the same for quite a few years as well. I foresure disagree with Overeem easily destroying JDS, better overall stand up but Overeem doesnt have a good chin and speed adv goes to JDS
@cujo90512 жыл бұрын
@Leonidas3888 I just dont think Goodridge has much to gain by saying some Pride fights were fixed. And its not like thats the first time Ive heard that. Im sure you have aswell. I dont think you'll hear really successful guys in Pride say that cause that would ruin there whole fight record... Personally Im glad the UFC have become the one big org. Finally got to see the matchups Ive always wanted. Certainly dont want MMA to become anything like boxing.
@Leonidas388812 жыл бұрын
@cujo905 LOL Ive been watching since 93 also, and yes Pride werent good at running a business, and I wouldnt go as far as to say fights were fixed, decisions were wrongly given but the UFC is guilty of that as well. As far as Goodridge goes he doesnt strike me as a credible source, him and the whole Coleman camp are known for their poor sportsmanship and drig induced attitudes. Competition is healthy and any competive organization will unfortunately be bought out by UFC.

@Oreillyisthebest Let the kid be, man. He obviously has no clue, all he does here is repeat word for word what Diaz said after the fight, so pathetic. Ripping on Condit for doing spinning moves and leg kicks, lol, thats like ripping on a quarterback for throwing a ball. Condit landed way more hits than Diaz, period. If Diaz is too dumb to come up with a counter-strategy for 5 fkking rounds he doesnt deserve to get a title shot.
@canibizle77712 жыл бұрын
@danjhartmann How did he BEAT HIS A55.. Please Explain?.. was it his SUPERB RUNNING SKILLS?.. was it His fukin SPIN MOVE?.. spin move, after spin move, after spin move?.. His kicks to the leg? or his one LUCKY kick to the face?.. Lets face it, Diaz dominated the whole fight, chased him, dropped him. Diaz only mistake was not taking him to the GROUND earlier, so he'll stop fukin RUNNING.
@cujo90512 жыл бұрын
@Leonidas3888 Ive been watching since 93, Pride ruined themselves, ran out of money and overpaid thier countrymen, UFC couldnt buy it if it wasnt for sale. Also remember alot of Pride fights were fixed and it had no structure to be a legit sport since there were soooo many matches that didnt make sense. I loved Pride though, very entertaining. Gary Goodridge has a book out, and talks about the fixed fights.

Easy to overlook because martial arts is intertwined with japanese and chinese and has been for centuries. When you think of indians you dont think of martial artists because let's be real nowadays theres thousands more white, black, hispanic, japanese and brazilian fighters and like..2 indian fighters that arent that good.
@wasabiP12 жыл бұрын
@123gwf mm... not really lol. but he might be meaning it playfully coz there's a word that he might have translated from the japanese word 'baka', which friends call each other jokingly in Japanese. If you wanna surprise him, next time he calls u idiot, just point back and say 'baka!" Or u could just ask if he's being rude on purpose lol.
@Frogger0neXx12 жыл бұрын
@kamionkami1 I think Condit fight out of character, and im sure he would admit it. Win is a win, but definitely not a dog fight as advertise. Was it a good plan? Yes. Was it exciting and all we thought it would be? No. He played it safe. Simple as that. And Nick Diaz did to Condit down so I don't know why you're doubting.
@Humanoids12 жыл бұрын
@Brzbrngr he could've easily walked into his face shoving the cap off his head, but I understand that it wasn't really to make a point, as it was just to show your fanboyism towards Rampage by being disrespectful to his opponent. I'm sure you would get into Rampage's face like nobody else and are a much bigger man than Bader ever will be.

@canibizle777 No man anyone who knows about mma would have judged that fight 3 -2 rounds in favor of condit.....if Diaz wanted to win he shouldn't have let it go to the judges.....and I doubt u could step in the cage and last five minutes with condit so y even talk?
@Billynayshere12 жыл бұрын
Finally a new opponent for Edgar only 5 fights with the same 2 guys.....ridiculous when Henderson wins hopefully he will have a better Champ schedule instead of an old BJ Penn twice and a trilogy with no talent Maynard! Also when Edgar loses, his "p4p" talk is OVER!!!
@Leonidas388812 жыл бұрын
@Leonidas3888 When the time comes Overeem will easily destroy Dos Santos as long as the UFC doesnt wait a whole year to make it happen. Ive wasted so much money hyped up UFC events and Ive never felt that way paying for a pride show;(

My God! Why am i seeing Nick Diaz' name in every UFC video nowadays, Who cares if he really won, he tested positive for marijuana, So he lost either way, I'm a fan of the Diaz Bros. but for fucksake let it go...UFC 144 HERE WE GO!
@canibizle77712 жыл бұрын
@danjhartmann Diaz mistake was not taking him to the GROUND earlier, using his submissions or ground and pound to wear him out.. at the end CONDIT would of been tired, and no STAMINA for him to RUN... or his spin move, after spin move, after spin move..SMH
@Puokie12 жыл бұрын
@mmaandrew13 Most martial arts did start in Asia, and made their way west with travelers. Brazil, on the other hand, is the mecca of Mixed Martial Arts. Vale Tudo. But even Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an evolved combination of Judo and Japanese Jujitsu.
@Leonidas388812 жыл бұрын
All old skool fans know u did kill pride. Not one ufc show has ever topped an average pride event. Every pride show gave you all the fights everyone wanted to see not filler garbage, it was about fights not milking the money. Noob fans know no better.
