Also, UFC is constantly expanding into new territories and is not exclusively a US sport, being sold, the show, in 150+ countries... something a national sport can't do. The money will come from other countries and eventually USA will only be a small part of their global market. It will be bigger than any sport able to cross boarders and cultures around the world.

UFC is a sport, and it's not about killing the guy. It's about using skill, and years of training. Using those skills to win fights. GSP could have ripped out Dan Hardy's arm or permnently ending his career. It's not hard to break someone's arm. GSP wanted to submit him, and not to kill him by ending his career. There is a 3 tap out rule for a reason.

@huntman125, I agree that GSP is amazing, and IMO the greatest fight atm, but if you saw the post-fight press conference I believe Dana White did justice in backing up GSP. He told everyone, that GSP isnt to blame and said that Hardy should have prepared better takedown defence. He even said its going to be difficult to find a fighter who's going to be able to take on GSP at this time. As Dana White said, this is just one fight and don't forget GSP's other fights. Dan Hardy just had balls!

I agree with Silva being the Pound for Pound best but, every fighter has an off night. To say that GSP is boring is just disrespectful. Even Silva has bad nights with Leites and Cote. Sometimes people get to caught up in the stand up game to be honest, remember it's MMA not Boxing and GSP was smart to take it where Hardy was weak. GSP is still top 3 pound for pound IMO. Not the best performance but, a smart one though.

@huntman125 i agree. it is ppl like jg1635 thats holding mma back. i can understand if gsp just layed and prayed on dan hardy but GSP was mixing it up in a different way. He put on a BJJ clinic from the top and a wrestling clinic when they stood up..not to mention for about 5-6 minutes of the fight he even showed dan hardy who was superior on the feet.

Silva moves up to 205 and he fights James Irvin... Irvin is now fighting at 185. GSP moves up and he goes straight to A. Silva??? Who could never make 170... Really fair. If GSP goes to 185 maybe his 4th fight should be against someone of the caliber of Silva. Give GSP a James Irvin for his 1st fight. Hell, give him James Irvin.
