This was the second mma fight I ever watched. It’s the fight that really brought me into the mma world and made me fall in love with it. Kept thinking how Aldo was such a beast in this one. So vicious with his lightning fast counters, his aggression, his signature leg kicks. Wanted Mendes to win tho. Man seeing this back then was so insane. This is how an mma title fight should really be. This is the kind of fight you should show to a newbie to get them into mma. This fight along with Jones vs Gustaffson 1 and Lawler vs MacDonald 2 imo.

This is EXACTLY the fight that changed my view on LEVELS achievable by fighters . when I was watching it long time ago I couldn't believe this is real time speed , combos they throw , highest lvl of counters , list goes on. Masterpiece as it is !!! Edit : also Dillashaw vs Barrao fight that show me real chess match , how one fighter was able to pin point weaknesses of his aponent and outsmart him into a trap. Masterclass .
