"What was the excuse in the first fight?" I don't know, the fact he was 24 and Usman was 28 seems like a pretty big reason. For context, at 24 Usman had never fought in a professional mixed martial arts contest. None. Edwards was 4 fights into his UFC career. and 13 fights into his MMA career.
