@dcrosner15 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathankevin500 Great knockout but I think Izzy vs Pereira is just at a higher level, which makes it more impressive. Some people would argue that Chandler’s KO of Tony was the best knockout of last year but Tony was already on a 3 fight skid. Leon deserved the best KO of 2022 because he did it to a 15 fight winning streak Usman. Same logic as to why I think, Adesanya’s KO deserves the KO of the year. Pereira beat him last year and smoked his way to the top of the middleweight division and is now a two division champ in two sports - super impressive. KOing a guy that good deserves the most credit.

Izzy is the only one to have dominated him in the stand up. He did so in Kickboxing twice (once where he lost via a controversial decision, and the other, where he got caught by a left hook), he also dominated him in their first MMA fight, but again, got caught. Then, he went on to be the only person to knock Pereira out stiff in his whole career. He had been TKOed before. But never had he been sent to the shadow realm. Put some respect on Izzy's name.

Izzy fr was picking Alex apart in the first half of the second round from southpaw with really nice body kicks and low kicks from that stance , Alex did rock Izzy before the counter right hand Not a fan of Izzy but his striking always matched up well against Alex and their fights are always entertaining
@TheGuyCalledX5 ай бұрын
This was honestly the closest fight in their rivalry in terms of striking before the KO. The first 3 fights all had Izzy winning handedly until the KO/bell. First 9 minutes of this fight was so evenly matched.
@bobharris72254 ай бұрын
@@TheGuyCalledX Winning handily is quite a stretch, while Izzy did win most of the rounds majority were very close which is far from winning handily. Even in their first MMA bout, Pereira was controlling most of the first before getting stunned and won the second.... I mean the first KB fight people seem to have a huge misconception of it being a highway robbery when in reality it was quite competitive, competitive fights many times could go either way and Alex won that by decision

That shows levels. Not many can strike with Alex but more fighters can beat Izzy on the feet. We just saw him get clobbered by Strickland and DDP.
@RaidenKyoАй бұрын
@@meijilee5264 And yet Strickland got sent to the shadow realm by Alex in like 2 minutes. I think saying it shows levels is a casual take, styles makes fights. And besides, Dricus won by a good submission finish when Izzy turned his back against him, and was 100% not even trying in the later rounds against Strickland.
@meijilee5264Ай бұрын
@@RaidenKyo yes styles make fights as in Alex style dismantled Izzy's style 3 times and the styles that beat Izzy across 2 sports. Alex just got better while Izzy declined. That's what I meant about levels. "Casual take" lmao read the comment again.
@RaidenKyoАй бұрын
@@meijilee5264 How does this reply disprove me at all? Yes, Alex has power. All of their fights were close until izzy had to eat a powerful shots that could end almost 99.9% of humans. Izzy also has an incredible KO over him. What's your point? Alex is better? Could have made that more clear. If that's your argument then it really isnt that cut and dry. Claiming Alex is 'levels above' Izzy in striking is casual, honestly dude
@meijilee5264Ай бұрын
@@RaidenKyo casual? One is double champ in pure striking which is kickboxing and the other isn't. One is 3-1 over the other. Izzy already had more kickboxing fights combined when he faced off against Pereira when they fought twice and lost. And in the current time, Pereira is 5-0 against the best hitters in lhw while Izzy really got bullied out of the rankings by the likes of Strickland and DDP. That's levels lmao. Blaming it on power alone is cope because there are lots of powerful guys on the roster but can't do it like Alex because it actually takes skill to wield it too.
