Paranormal Videos You may have Missed

Күн бұрын

Very, very obscure UFO documentary movie released in 1978. The 70s seemed to be a prime decade for this genre. It made the rounds on TV in the mid- to late 80s, where copies were then recorded on VCR. Unlike other similar movies from the era, this one never seems to have been available on home video or DVD, nor posted anywhere on the internet (until now). Enjoy!
Featuring:
UFO still and motion pictures
Speculation on possible different life-forms on other planets
Rare NASA/Space Program animation
Simulated manned mission to Mars
Simulated Space Shuttle flight (years before the first shuttles were launched)

I get a kick out of Sidney Paul's line "Space, and the creation of the Universe!" It sticks out because that's the only time I've heard him in Wheeler Dixon's paranormal movies make a delivery like that--i.e. he normally doesn't narrate like that. Love it.

These old documentaries on UFOs are the best. Mainly, because we know no more today about UFOs than we did back then. Unless the government spills the beans about what it knows. Unlike today's documentaries, these classics present the material straight-forward, without BS, and with an authoritative style of presentation. Can't beat Walter Cronkite. Also, the picture quality is terrible on most of these. It was probably recorded on somebody's Betamax back then, and unfortunately, the original film most likely doesn't exist anymore, which would have made for an excellent video transfer to HD.
@paranormalvideosyoumayhave2581
@paranormalvideosyoumayhave2581 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments. Just FYI, the movie shown here was actually recorded on VHS tapes from two separate TV showings in 1986-87. When my family got our first VCR, we were advised to get a VHS model, because Betamax appeared to be on its way out at that point. I actually pine for a re-mastering of this and other similar documentary movies myself. I hold out hope that film negatives or prints, or, perhaps, ¾-inch or 1-inch video tape transfers made of them for televising, still exist somewhere, such as in a film vault or TV archive, or even in a private collection of some film/videophile. If so, there may yet be a chance that better quality videos will come to light in the future. In the meantime, I guess we’ll just have to see - and hope.

@@paranormalvideosyoumayhave2581 Thank you so much for this list, PVYMHM! I have no idea how you got all this info but it is so beneficial. I checked out nearly each individual piece and each one is quite a song when you hear it in its full context. I think the famous bit "Ill Wind 2" and the lesser-known "Ill Wind 1" are the only ones (a few of the other songs too, I think?) we actually hear in their entirety in the film. Outside of this I also heard it in 1977's "In Hot Pursuit" (it quickly fades out once the two/three-note guitar riff kicks in).
