UFO hearing

Republicans called a hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs), more commonly known as UFOs. We made use of the hearing to expose how the Department of Defense and its contractors avoid requirements to notify Congress. Transparency at the Department of Defense is essential both to avoid the misuse of funds and to instill public confidence so that conspiracy theories and disinformation are less likely to spread.

I so much what to believe that aliens are here on earth. I am 70 years old and have been interested in the topic since the late 60s. But nothing ever changes. It's all, well I was told by someone. Or, I saw something in the sky but I don't know what it is. So bottom line to me is this: I just don't think that the government is capable of a cover up of the magnitude. Too many people are involved. Some actual evidence would have come out after decades of such intense interest by so many people on the subject. And the reason that the DOJ will not cooperate is because, as has been show before, a lot of the sightings are of top secret military projects. One we now know of is the triangular shaped stealth bomber. Think of all the blurry triangular ufo photos we saw before the bomber was made public.

i think you misunderstood the technical details they were getting into, they were talking about IRAD which is a program that lets military contractors get paid to try out new designs and technology at a R&D level with no oversight before essentially pitching the idea to the military and hopefully receiving full funding. so he is saying they have been using this process to examine and research the alleged crashed vessels but haven't developed any concept enough to "pitch" a new technology to the military to see if they would want it , which is why it hasn't been reported. my big problem with that idea is that means that no one bothered to report it when the material was identified, retrieved and handed over to the military contractors which would've all been done by some official government branch like the military. companies don't generally go out and secure unknown crash sites and the idea that these companies would somehow be able to detect these crashes but the US military cant is insane, i guess that's where the "men in black" come into the conspiracy theory.

The expanse of this matter sometimes seems boundless. We have known that funding has been applied to this work at many levels for a long time. Many branches of the military are a part of this, such as the US Navy; as well as many departments of the federal government such as the US Department of the Interior where NASA resides. Of course, Space Force is a recently carved out vector too. What we see in visibility and funding of the past will give way, perhaps quickly, to expanded visibility and considerable on-the-table funding. We have seen of late how fractured our ability to legislate and deal with the most pressing matters of our times can be. Competency, perseverance, and resilience are absolute requirements for our elected officials - and let us not forget the strength of endurance for the mountain of work that we have in front of us. The future has arrived.

This is a tough one for me. There can certainly be new technologies but when they talk about inhuman remains, they loose me. Did it fall on a praire dog town or a cow, those are both inhuman? First of all it's bad to immediately dismiss that and assume that nobody did the work of identifying and examining the alleged remains, and that with the ability to use things like microscopes and X rays nobody knows the difference between a dog and an unidentified new lifeform that has large brain size etc. Condemnation without investigation is just as ignorant as believing everything. Secondly these witnesses are saying "There is an evidence trail, documents, living witnesses and other more solid forms of evidence we can't talk about but disclosure would give you acess for. WE the whistleblowers didn't have the power to release this, expose this, and make it a topic of study, YOU the elected officials are the ONLY people who can do that. So we came to you, took an oath (the violating of which can not only take us to prison, but get our hard earned military pensions taken away). When we say we see strong evidence, and even stronger classified photos, videos and physical evidence, realize if we are discovered to be lying our honorable discharge status will revoked, our reputations ruined, and our freedom taken away. We get it there was a fake video once upon a time, but remember once upon a time there was a rigged basketball game, but surely not all basketball games are rigged. @@deejin25 there is a difference between immediately dismissing something and simply stating it lacks enough specificity to be credible, the exact term he used is "non-human biologics" but while sounding impressive is actually wildly meaningless, a pizza is "non-human biologics" due to the bacteria in the cheese. its certainly not a term a scientist would've used to describe a sample especially after an in depth study as you propose, there would be a bit more specificity to it. to quote a man far smarter than i am "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" and as the main witness confirms himself at the beginning of his statement he was there "to represent the views of over 30 military pilots and civilian aircraft crews" the only evidence he offered today was second hand accounts of 30 individuals (more people have claimed to see the virgin Mary this year alone) im not dismissing his claims but nor will i take them seriously until someone can produce some actual evidence, until then unproven accusations is all they are. lastly if they really do have all this evidence of illegal government activity why don't they do like every other whistle-blower does and post the damn stuff on WikiLeaks, even if they avoided anything that might compromise other operations surely they must have something they could post, ANYTHING to a least partially verify any of the claims.

I'm still skeptical about UFOs but maybe with more transparency and less sloppy bureaucracy we'll have less UFO hysteria. Plus private contractors who work for government bureaus need to be held to the same standards we expect from the bureaus. It should not be so easy to use private sector to shift responsibility. When an agent acts on behalf of the government, they are the government.

@@sitbone3 I meant a credible scientist, like the one (David Spergel, head of the committee) on the NASA UFAP committee. It's a shame about Loeb. He is a credible black hole physicist, but he has some nutty ideas on alien visitations. I took a quick look at some of Davis' stuff, and that stuff looks crazy as well. First, I notice that he has a paper with H.E. Putfoff, which is a bad sign. He was one of the scientists who declared Uri Geller a genuine psychic. (See the howlers about him in James Randi's book, "The Truth about Uri Geller". ) I see he also has a paper about extracting energy from the quantum vacuum, a claim that many people have made, which is completely wrong. The quantum vacuum, although it has fluctuations, is a ground state. You can't extract energy from a ground state. (P.S. It doesn't work for the Casimir effect either.) I don't know anything about Kirkpatrick.

The alien craft even shoots under the water at one point and then pops back up, while losing no speed at all. This isn't "Q" nonsense, it's something that has been captured many times. It would be nice if there were more global government transparency regarding these events.
