@@StephenDedalus74 Thanks. I never saw that. But I’ll have to check it out. Here’s another interesting Rod Serling fact that maybe you know: he wrote the original Planet of the Apes! And if we think about the ending when Charlton Heston comes across the Statue of Liberty, it makes so much sense. Classic ironic ending. Exactly like a Twilight Zone episode. :)

@@houdinididiit Wow ! I did not know for Planet of the Apes ! I mean, I remember it was adapted from a french sci fi novel (by Pierre Boulle, who also wrote... Indeed, we have much to thank him for, two super television series these, we got The Twilight Zone in England but I don't ever recall seeing NIGHT GALLERY back in the 1970's as a kid or even the 80's as a teen, but I finally got to see these too & although not quiet of the quality of TZ there were some effective & chilling stories, I especially liked the Bill Bixby SORCERER episode alongside the superb Vincent Price...tis said that Serling also got to see the actual landing footage seen here but was at the last minute told that no such footage will be forthcoming, although a few long shots were permitted, WHAT A SHAME, how different our World might have been if such moments had been TAKEN by the U.S. military top brass, rather than having to go SECRET COVER-UP all this time :(

Was there any change in the atmosphere? Did the birds, animals or bugs react to the occurrence? Did the air around you change in any way? What did you hear, see (focus and light spectrum), smell, or tasted anything unfamiliar? These questions seem strange but are very important when seeking clarity to an event.

@@bobbyagee3796 There was total silence. The 'light' looked like lava flowing down out of openings at the bottom of the craft, it would drip down, stop then return back up into the opening as more would flow down. No noise, no wind, no heat, no odor. I was 30 feet under the tip of the left wing. A cowvker saw it too, he had stopped at a red light and noticed all the crickets stopped chirping and the sound from the car next to his, the radio made no sound as the craft flew over his head. Maybe they had to finagle with the aspect ratio to accommodate the multiple viewing platforms; ie, phone, tablet, TV and PC. Back when this was filmed there was only one (TV or cinema - I don't know which because I didn't read the description [yet]). Frankly, I'll take however they wish to present it as this whole doc is brand new to me. I graduated HS in '71, and my first brush with 'out there' movies was Andromeda Strain. I've been hooked on the strange and unexplainable ever since. On a side note, Jacques Valle was a gorgeous hunk of man flesh!!! He's still holding up quite well. 😅🥰 Ahhh well, those were great days and full of lots of good times. I'm glad I was there - even if I never did see any UFOs. 🤷 Many thanks again to those who shared this video with us!!

I have another version of this documentary in which a little more is seen of the skies around this BASE including a few snippet shots of something WHITE clearly descending, so I think your right Austin, I get the feeling this is a more recent edited version, shame, but then again, the ORIGINAL FOOTAGE showing this landing nearly made it to AIR on TV but for a late call stating the reels would NOT be allowed but that a few snippets (seen in the older original print) could be inserted. The UFO / ET subject in time to come will be common place & it many may well wonder WHAT ALL THE FUSS WAS ALL ABOUT? it's an interesting one to be sure, like many I simply took it as red that ET's existed & had very likely visited this planet of ours (despite the nonsense notion that their planetary systems are just too far away...what BULL...and I suppose that's because they'll then be using TECH similar to ours then? ;) how such folks cannot realise that they are likely to be well in advance of us & would have invented remarkable ways of exploring this Galaxy of ours...but hey if the Military (as it seems) wish to play their silly cover up games then so be it. There is one PROVISO though...it may well be that there was a genuine reason for holding back such information (and it's unlikely that they're BAD / EVIL ET's who want to EAT us but if they're intelligent & wish to do so...then I hope you choke on us) NO, it's much more likely to be SOMETHING so at ODDS with most on PLANET EARTH that it would be difficult to come to terms with. What might this be? Well, it is interesting that the likes of THE GREYS (all types) and the NORDIC types as well as others are very HUMAN LIKE...HOW CAN THIS BE? what's so troubling that the Military would hold back progress & knowledge of such species for all this time? Could it be...that we are very much connected to them? might it be that we have been created by they (NOT GOD or by way of DARWIN's THEORY of Evolution) but by their own hands...making we 'HUMANS' an EXPERIMENTAL SPECIES. If so? it is what it is...but I do understand to many that this would be very troubling....perhaps something along these lines, rather than simply HEY ET's exist & they've been visiting this Planet not just for decades but for many centuries, "TIME TO LEARN THE TRUTH" whatever it may be.

Use of cymbals in movie music was big back in the '70s so Rod probably thought it was perfect.

What I find facinating and tragic about this video, is when Serling is talking about the 'future' of our aviation. Well, this film is now FORTY-FIVE Years old. That future is HERE. and guess what? We haven't advanced jack-all in any real sense, in terms of aviation technology. Commercially, we are still flying around in the same big, slow tubby buses that we have been since around 1960. Better avionics, but nothing major. Its replacement, the Concorde has now been retired for 20 years, with no replacement! And why was our 'Next Generation' of commerical air travel dumped? Because it was 'Too Loud'. Yeah, RIGHT. On the Military Side, the worlld air speed record is still held by the SR-71 'BlackBird', Mach 3+, set in 1976. With no subsequent improvement? SERIOUSLY? In nearly 60 years, our technology has not significantly advanced. Other than the shiny beads of Smartphones and the cancer of Social Media.

Serling passed in 1975 so they must have gotten Jacques Vallee to do narration as he cites Jan 1979 cases @ 1 hr 14 mins mark. I guess they pieced together some Serling and some Vallee narration and combined to make the whole film. Good film btw.

FYI, The Washington DC UFO incident has one major hole in it. Th incident as related happened in 1952, and the person relating the story mentioned that he was contacted at home by the Public Affairs Officer of te FAA. Problem is, the FAA was not created until 1958

Really enjoyed watching this. I didn't realise how rubbish modern 'made for American market' documentary's have become. Endless recaps of the same info and video sensationalised to the extreme. This on the other hand treats viewer's like adults and is very well written.

32:00 I couldn't see anything at all on that film. NEVER trust the authorities if they ask to have a look at your evidence. You obviously won't get it back! Which is infuriating! And just makes me think... "Bloody thieving pigs!" Grrr! 🖕🏻🤬👎🏻 And lastly, this is actually a very good programme, especially for the time it was made (mid-1970s). I do actually recall watching this somewhere else on the internet about 20yrs ago, except I saw a truncated version. I remember bits and pieces of it, though not everything. (I actually think I downloaded it as a bit torrent from LimeWire, so that's certainly going back a bit!) 😁👍🏻 I appreciate that it's being taken seriously right from the beginning of the programme, which is somewhat uncommon for most older UFO programmes.👽🛸🤖 Anyway, thumbs up! 🖖🏻🙂👍🏻 And thanks to the uploader too! ✌🏻🙂👌🏻

Rod Serling yeah he was good at being a Narrator. I believe he was the voice to the twilight Zone too, as his voice is so distinct. I think the world these days is but a hop away now from learning in fact we are not alone in this universe, and will also learn that we never were, we are all part of a huge family tree, the only way to make it to the stars is to change our mindset from war to enlightenment, we should too all live our lives the way we designed to, we should be the best version of who and what we are and live our passion and naturally enlightenment will be easier to acquire? If we all become enlightened then weapons of conflict and war will be dropped and mankind would. Contribute global cooperation to become an interstellar race ourselves, surely that beats the need for war.

The interesting thing about Rod Serling is, even though he's been pigeonholed as a storyteller and often times narrator of the bizarre, supernatural and occult, he didnt actually believe in any of it; especially with narrating gigs like this, it was simply a paycheck.

Tis said...RUMOUR of course...so take it or leave it, but that either HE (Serling) was shown the actual LANDING FOOTAGE or was told about it, they so nearly got their hands on it for inclusion on this DOC & this is from the 1970's & still it sits in a military vault awaiting someone to finally sign it off to be seen by those who already knew the story before this documentary was ever made. So if true? then I cannot see how an intelligent man such as Serling would not believe any of it, it's a little like CARL SAGAN, those in the know have a good idea that despite what Mr Sagan stated in public & in Tv interviews, he actually knew a good amount concerning such a topic, it's even said, he was part of Majic (Majestic) even if only on special occasions when asked for his thoughts & is probably HOW he was able to help Mr Frank Drake with his equation concerning how many intelligent species currently exist within our galaxy...said to be 10,000, if true, this is most interesting.

Let’s see the starting process of a 1970s vehicle. The driver makes An electro-mechanical connection using the starter key to power the starter motor, then the starter gear engages the engine flywheel and the engine starts, this causes the starter gear to be pushed back, the driver hears the engine start, then releases the key. How can an UFO do this process on its own? The engine has supposedly stalled due to the presence of the UFO, the UFO leaves and the engine starts, so how can this happen without human intervention?
