Zullen toch wel meer mensen zijn die graag weten hoeveel kilometer dat ding al achter de rug had. En was er revisie nodig bijvoorbeeld, maar ziet er strak uit.

Now, imagine taking that thing over the Tahir Pass in the 1970s ! The very best years of trucking in the whole human history were in the late 1960s, 1970s and the ‘80s till ‘89. After that everything went to the crapper and trucking became the worst occupation that there is ! Back then truck driving was a tough job from a physical point of view and trucks were not that comfortable like these “computers on wheels” of today, but they were tough and reliable and you could fix just about anything yourself with that handful of tools trucks were equipped with in those days. What made trucking so iconic during those decades was the fact that it was tons of fun and you made bucket loads of money you couldn’t even dream of making in any other job. Besides that, you also got to see allot of the world first hand and intimate and made lots of good friends allover the place. No cell phones, no GPS and no satellite comm, thus no boss breathing down your neck 24/7/365 like in these present day and age of total slavery. Today trucking is not that physically demanding like it was then, but it’s a 24/7 sweatshop, a slavery mill that wears you down psychologically more than anything else. The world today is a cesspool of utter filth and corruption at the highest levels of society and it’s starting to resemble hell more than anything else !

what a beauty, and at that point in time, one of the best - sadly scania stopped making good trucks about 1999 - and most of the real truckers and the people who did the engineering went to other brands. Keep it forever, its only getting better with age.

nope even vehicles after 1999 was good i have 124L from 2001 is good and a P480 is good from 2008 and 2009 R series They Stopped making Good Trucks After 2015 when V8 was discontinued for the Eco Laws and they started using Adblue and DPF and electronics and became crap

Gelukkig dat iedereen un andere smaak heeft. Mij lijkt het helemaal niks zo'n ouwe sjef zonder airco en kutstoelen plus schakelen. Geef mij maar een nextgen veel meer rust en comfor

mee eens, ik heb ook liever een nieuwere wagen, wel leuk om soms wel eens zo'n oude wagen te zien op de weg

Nou NextGen....ik ben er twee jaar mee gereden....S500.... daarna ben ik vrijwillig op een Iveco Sway 510 gewisseld....en blij mee....en met die Iveco zelfs mooi 6 pagina's in de TruckStar gestaan een jaar geleden.... ....ik ben in totaal wel 17 a 18 jaar met een Scania op pad geweest....ben nu wel van genezen....de andere jaren van mijn 31 jaar op de truck, ben ik andere merken gereden en die waren allemaal comfortabeler als die stuiterbakken uit Södertälje/Zwolle..... .... Scania's zijn op zich wel mooie wagens, maar qua comfort zijn er betere....
