Here to learn. Iwill be doing this soon. But iwd want to ask, it means someone can't go to URSB and ask to be wedded let's say in a period of just few weeks? Its submitting in requirements then wait for 21days to elapse then after 21days it's when the ceremony can take place?

Yes please, you fill in some paperwork first, if it’s approved it will be put on the notice board, then 21 days after, you can do your ceremony.

Congratulations Flo. 🎉 My question is about the witnesses. In the case of a Ugandan marrying a foreigner...does the foreigner's witness have to me from the same country as the foreigner or it can be a Ugandan friend? So two Ugandan witnesses.

It does not have to be a foreigner. Anyone above 18 with a valid ID can be a witness.

Make sure all documents are in and you are posted 21days prior to the ceremony. Get all documents ready and file as soon as you arrive.

You need a valid Ugandan visa, a form verifying your marital status from your country, the fee (200usd if you and spouse are both foreigners), affidavits, letter from place of residence in Uganda, two witnesses and their identification

Present your IDs/passports, valid visa, verification documents from your countries stating that you are neither married nor divorced, witness names and ID copies, a letter from local council (YOU MUST HAVE STAYED AT THE LOCATION MORE THAN 15 DAYS) 210 USD fee, affidavits of support. Hopefully this is helpful

You can start collecting/organizing your paper work but must submit it if he has a valid Ugandan visa. I started the process while my husband was away but he had a valid visa at the time so I could submit even when he was out of the country.
