Roland Barthes 1915-1980,French literary theorist. He associated with structuralism, Anthropology, Literary theory, post-structuralism. Barthes is perhaps best known for his 1957 essay collection Mythologies which contained reflections on popular culture, and 1967 essay The Death of the Author which critiqued traditional approaches in literary Criticism. Barthes identify 561 units of meaning or what he called Laxis. He propound the theory of [ Reading the Plural Text]. According to him we read the text through many way and ideas and so many meaning, when we want to understand those meaning then we read the text again. Barthes identifies five different kinds of semiotics elements that are common to all the text, Hermeneutics Proairetic Symbolic Cultural Another theory From Work to Text. Roland Barthas was a French literary theorist , essayist,philosopher,critic,semiotician.His ideas expolered a diverse range of fields and influenced the development of many scholars of theory including structuralism anthropology,literary theory and post structuralism .Semiotic theory -it broke down the process of reading sign and focused on their intrepretation by different culture and society .Barthes explained that these bourgeois cultural myth were "second order signs" or communication -a picture of full ,dark bottle is a signifire that being the physical form of signs had both a signifire being the physical form of sign as we perceive it through our senses and signified ,on meaning that is interpreted . He argues that "traditional text"render and reader passive because the author has control of narrative.

🚩Roland Barthes🚩 was a French literary theorist, essayist, philosopher, critic, and semiotician. 📎His work engaged in the analysis of a variety of sign systems.📎 📣influenced the development of many schools of theory, including structuralism, anthropology, literary theory, and post-structuralism. 📣Barthes was highly influenced by Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiology - the formal study of signs and signification. 💭Early thought:-💭 A) 💭Semiotics and myth.
