Just assembled this AC Cobra. What a joy to build. I got this as a gift and had never heard of this type of modeling. My last build was the Tamiya 1/16 RC Leopard 2A6. This was a challenge but everything was well designed. and all fit without any shoe-horning. Yes, the video explained the spring winding. Had me head scratching for a while. Thanks. for the instructional video.

Hi. yes this wooden kit is so nice to build, very satisfying! Glad the spring winding bit was helpful, it took me a while to figure that out! Thanks for watching and for the nice comment - cheers! 🍻😎👍

He he he Boy that spring part scared me!! It's crazy how they made all those parts from wood and go together so nicely. Pretty neat!

Thanks Steve, yeah I know what you mean, I was ready for the snapping of wood, but all was fine in the end! I'm very impressed with the overall quality and fit of the wooden parts and a nice change from plastic! Cheers! 🙏😊👍

I very much enjoyed trying to fathom what the designer(s) was/were thinking as we saw each major chunk of the car come together. The "run" at the end was great fun. I can't wait to see the vintage racer!

Cheers 🍻 Del! Yes, I know what you mean, I wasn't sure how it was all going to work as I built it up! Very clever though and a joy to put together. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do that run video but the car runs quite far before the spring winds down so it was quite easy in the end! Vintage GP car next! All the best my good friend! 👍

It's clever how they build these, but with modern CAD it does help. I did expect it to fall apart with all that tension on the spring 🙂

Getting to see it operate I’ll bet, was so rewarding! Thank you for sharing your build and experience along the way!

Hi Robby, yeah it's pretty cool ain't it?!?!?! I was amazed by the accuracy of all the parts, it really is a great thing to put together. Even better that it actually drives when finished, just needs some electrics in there to be able to steer it! Thanks so much for watching this non-RC content, much appreciated my friend!

That was nice to watch, Mark! I had thought I might want to skip forward a bit, but those 20 minutes just went past really easily. I think Ugears can be very satisfied they sent you this for review, you really presented it well! I can imagine the satisfaction of putting the parts together, very well done! And of course the engineering that went into this, it is very impressive! Now looking forward to seeing the next ones also, and of course also some RC car stuff, ha ha!

Many thanks, Mads! Glad it kept your interest, even though it's not RC related! You are very kind, but I hope Ugrears are happy with this video, as you know I always try to be honest with my reviews. You are right, it was very satisfying to put together and something a little different for me. One thing I loved was the smell of the wood, you can't get that with a Tamiya kit!!! All the best my good friend!

That's amazing Mark, what a great kit. You did such a good job on it and also the video. Just showing the tricky bits should be enough to help someone out who is building this. Also very interesting to watch even if you aren't building it. I'm super impressed that you got some tracking shots like the RC vids. Top work all round my friend 😁

Cheers mate and thanks for taking the time to watch this non-RC related content! Yeah I thought if I showed every step the video would be 10 hours long!!! It was good fun to film it running but it only goes about 7m before the spring is unsprung! Looks cool though! It was a nice change from plastic models and I'm looking forward to the next one. All the best my friend! :))

Hi there Mark, a great looking model indeed. It looked as though all the parts were later cut to perfection and no real areas of concerns. Remarkable model, considering it’s from pressed, laminate timber materials. Looked also like it was a dexterity challenge too, keeping young Mark busy for quite a few hours. Awesome work. Best wishes to you and the family 😊😊

Hi John and many thanks for watching! Yes the parts are cut to an amazing level of precision and it all goes together beautifully. And yes, you do need to finesse those parts into place. I have seen similar stuff in my local hobby shop but I have not purchased one yet. I may have to give them a second look as it does look like a lot of fun to put it together and it is incredible that it all slots together so well! It is really neat all the features it has too! I just assumed they were just display models and not anything functional! I did see they had some simple machines that functioned but I will have to take a closer look next time I pop in for some paint, you know how that goes!

Hi Addam, yes this was a first for me but I'm glad I got the chance to build one, it really is a different experience to a plastic kit and it just smells so nice, too! Mmm, fresh pine!!! The accuracy of the parts puts some RC manufacturers to shame! The little moveable features raise it above the usual static models and to wind it up and see it go really made me smile. Hope you find something of similar interest, but remember all those other little RC "jobs" that you have on the go, first! Cheers, dude!

Hi there! I'm sure it could be converted to RC but it would take a lot of work. The model is very fragile though so I think it would break easily if fitted with an electric motor. I would make a fun project all the same!

I finished this and it wouldn't work. Very frustrating, luckily I figured out that the two pieces running length wise along the bottom needed to be pushed together very slightly. Now it is perfect. I love the complexity that was gone into the engineering
