You are so amazing, your talent moves me! I happen to be an artist with spinal cord injury, so I paint with my mouth. Amazingly, I can still learn things from those who paint with their hands. Thanks for your videos! XO

outstanding work as always. It's nice to see your method evolve as well, i find much similarities between this video and the recent work of people such as Howard Lyon for example (working wet on wet on small parts with very little underpainting work), i'm not at this stage yet as i often need to repaint areas after it's dry to fix values and mistakes i haven't seen before (i'm far from your experience in terms of oil painting). So it is quite impressive to see you do this with little to no retakes, i'm really appreciating these videos you make, it gives a very good insight of how you can approach such difficult subjets with the right tools (maquette, digital color sketch....etc). Did you changed your method for taking pictures of the finished work, these type of tutorials are quite hard to find on internet and your video about that specific thing is a bit old now so i wondered, the canvas size is bigger as well, maybe it changes something.... Anyway thanks a lot for sharing this, i'm looking forward to see more of you in the future, keep it up!

I've been mostly a digital painter for years, but I'm going back into oils, having never really given them a solid go. I'm such a big fan of your work and I'd love to learn more. I've purchased a few of your videos on your gumroad, but I'm hoping for more direct tutorial content on how to make this kind of work. Are you planning on doing smaller bites of instruction, or do you know of who is a good resource, in your opinion?

Yo it’s really crazy how much detail you put into your paintings, especially with your under drawings and how you have to be really tight with the highlights and shadows... How long does it take for you make these paintings in real time? And what goes through you mind when going through your art process?

It looks like you almost completed the painting in digital beforehand. I get that prep is important but why take so much longer just to paint it in oils? It doesn't exactly increase your hourly wage to put so much time to repeat something already so close to finish^^

he can also sell that painting for thousands of dollars., so hes getting paid twice really. if he doesnt sell that painting then generally it wouldnt be worth it time wise.

It's totally worth putting in the extra work to develop a color sketch digitally or traditionally in order to work out color and value and so that there is no wasted time with guess work trying to figure out what to do next when doing the final piece. Plus last I checked, Ryan is gonna earn 20 times what the job originally paid. So that extra effort is totally worth it.

I thought the exact same thing, but Magic the Gathering artists can sell their originals for thousands of dollars, there are Facebook groups for it, I'm in one of them.
