I keep expecting Terry to refer to it as the Ugly Duckling, then see it slowly become the Swan (after the front panel repaint and silk-screening, of course).

Christmas in July indeed. Great job getting that back to stock - I bet you are only one of a handful of people alive that are fully qualified to repair/restore these. Thats a big deal !! Way to go Terry

Yep, plenty of this work out there. Problem is the weight & shipping issues, 80Lbs is Expensive!

Congratulations Terry on 50K subscribers! That Viking II is pretty crusty but it will be back to better than new in no time.

Terry, I hearby nominate your junk bins for the "National Registry of Historic Pieces" (since you seem to have so many rare components). 😉 Glad to see you keeping this classic gear humming along... Wait, you typically fix that hum, don't you? Take care, sir!

Hey Terry, just curious if you use an isolation transformer on equipment like this when you utilize the oscilloscope? If so, what isolation transformer ya got? Thanks! 73.
@d-labelectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hello, I use an adapter that lifts the O-scope ground AC power cord lug. No isolation Xfmr

Viking Icon: Terry your an outstanding technician particularly on the Viking equipment. Suggestion: Make a puppet resembling a Viking warrior complete with Viking helmet which you then would use to simulate an attacking on the cobbler. The Viking won the battle against the cobblers modifier modifications. P.S. As the old Viking equipment i.e. boat anchors have 11-meters and there's hardly any CB'ers, let's partition the FCC to give us back our frequencies.
@melvinreaser37093 жыл бұрын
I don't think ham operators actually need the 11-meter band My thought is to leave as a means to hopefully bring more into the hobby to become actual ham operators ijs Many hams started out on 11 meters leave it as a stepping stone There are perhaps just as many cbers in the united states now as there are actual hams thanks to cell phones and GPS Many WHO still enjoy two-way communication just as much as any ham jmo

@@d-labelectronics I just got a 1959 Canadian Philips running that has a spring reverb that works. Then I learned Fender put spring reverb into the 63 Vibroverb! Dick Dale was in surf heaven!
