The kit to bypass the check valve in the intake works great and is only $75. It’s sold by a guy in Indiana who has an excellent KZbin video of his product. I installed mine in about 35 minutes, replaced the valve cover gasket and crank seal to do the complete job. Now my check valve is separate from the intake and much more accessible for future maintenance

You can get the intake from rock auto or any parts store, there is a dorman part available. Not just a dealer part. Bad info

actually at the time of the video there was no aftermarket intake avail, maybe you should of looked a little deeper into it while you was doing your teachers strike

Think he’s saying valve cover itself since that price is built in. But would do gaskets as well since it’s off and best not to reuse them and it start leakimg

My 2017 Buick encore is still reading the p1101 code after replacing, intake manifold, pcv tubing, pcv valve cover, spark plugs, coil pack, mass airflow sensor, intake air temperature sensor, o2 sensor and throttle body was cleaned to look brand new. after all that i'm still getting rough could start where rpms jump from 1000 to 2000 for about 10 seconds, after driving for a while and coming to a stop it rough idles and feels like it wants to turn off. I'm now debating replacing the VVT solenoid as i've seen that some of them can cause those symptoms. what would you recommend.

Could this cause a loss of power accelerating? Car I’m working on had this code as well as some others and cleared them and took it for a drive and the loss of acceleration power was still present and light came back on. But was just by itself and none of the other codes reappeared but only took it maybe half a mile before that code came back on

i would think under extreme conditions yes this could cause a loss of power if its the only code that comes right back i would start here

That dorman valve cover is a oil leaking piece of shite. You're better off getting a factor valve cover. Here the factory is actually cheaper than the dorman by 20 bucks.
