With Shroomed I think its important to note his back-to-back 3-0 destruction of Nintendude and Chudat with Marth at Royal Flush. Having that kind of counter-pick in a meta full of dangerous icies is a powerful tool to have.

Michiel Dekker wizzy has the better case for 7th over sfat atm IMO. Sfat has been shaky lately and wizzy has the god wins and consistent results. His bad losses are colbol to my knowledge who is streaky as shit in terms of level of play. sfat lost to cactuar lol.

Aoi Miyazaki how did Wes under perform at SnS3? He beat Wizzrobe and Kels, and only lost to Armada and Leffen for 9th

He had a good burst, but he was burnt out early. He got dominated by Armada, more so than other times. Throwing away stocks. He's usually even with Leffen in games, and is usually in control of the game. At Splash, Leffen had control of everything.

I actually find this thought process as interesting, as it seems relevant to anyone who isn't Armada.

You can't look at it like that. These rankings are based on RESULTS, not "Oh, I almost beat Armada. Hur Hur I'm the best." Shroomed had a really shaky start in the beginning of the year, regardless of whether his losses were against top players. *If you're a top player, you beat top players, not almost beat top players.*

Well, Shroomed didn't win the set, but he clearly dominated Armada's Peach, which counts for something. Maybe that something is not a rank influence, but I think that's pretty good when you're the first player of the year to actually force Armada to switch to Fox mid-set.
