Again I am not saying that that is the case with this game as like you said, it is made for fans of the Melee community. I would just rather be weary and see all opinions and get an idea of how I will spend my money that way. That said, I also have no intention of looking at IGN's reviews as anywhere close to the end all be all. They might say there are too many jellyfish or some barnacles and give the game a dumb score for the wrong reason. I just want to see what the general consensus is as $50 is quite a bit to pay for the game in its current state. The lack of information regarding the DLC is makes me want to wait as well. Let me clarify that I am excited for this game. I just want to be cautious is all.

@SlipperyStacks The complaints I have seen aren't about it being Ultimate's level of quality though. The problems I have seen are regarding the quality to price ratio. $50 is quite a bit for a game with so little content ($40 is a bit much too.) Reminds me of the issues people had with Street Fighter 5 when it released. Again, I think the game will be fun to play. I just want to be weary.

This game needs some staling mechanics. Increase di or endlag or decrease hitstun or something. Lots of balancing coming up. I can feel it. Also Zim needs a lot of buffa

Zim has hitbox issues with his best and most essential moves, like forward strong, so that's part of the problem The other half is he dies way too quickly, literally dying instantly to a PTM strong dash

Also his lights don't kill for shit. They need to start gaining potency in the early 100s. People talking about Patrick, but Zim is screwed in a game this fast. He's all glass and no cannon

It'd also be nice to see characters have weight and strength proportional to their size. Reptar's bag but he should be heavier and wait and is power heads should be more powerful just as oblena is very small and her hits should be less powerful yet she should be quicker to actually pump out those hits.

The more of it I watch, the more I feel like the RPS mechanic with strongs is gonna matter. For example, if you know someone is gonna strong up air you off the top, and your strong fair hits under you. Or maybe even throwing a down strong to lose on purpose so you spin out instead of getting ko'd.

looks like there needs to be more defense options, DI, ledge dashes, something that is the equivalent of shield dropping, and slide off mechanics. It doesn't need to be carbon copy Melee but there needs to be something to allow you to defend better. Also I'm upset there is no dash dancing. That allowed for more mix ups and freedom of mobility. Pivot anything in this game would be dangerous. Platform and edge cancelling, this game has a lot of potential.
