Unfortunately for Stanley, the Americans’s interest in the political situation in Uganda aligns with our interests in the peaceful transition of power post Museveni. We can all bury our heads in the sand but the biggest risk to Uganda’s political stability is the death of Mzee. Unless he masterminds the transition by installing his person in office whilst he is still alive and capable (senile) we are toast. We already have Muhoozi and Rwabogo factions, who haven’t yet reached for each other’s throats because Mzee is still around.
