Bright tuners are one thing, but that bright sound hole ring has got to go. If I buy one I’ll hit it up with some black nail polish. Also I wonder about wear on the zero fret?? And what is the fret material? And what refretting would be like on a CF board. So many questions.

I bought one of the Enya mini guitars and absolutely love it. I love the richness of tone and for a carbon fiber, it’s an amazing price. The case is heavy duty and with the shoulder straps. Easy to carry around. To be honest, I’m actually planning on selling one of my electrics so that I have room for the Enya. I feel that this guitar has a nice balance of durability affordability and sound quality. If someone’s looking for an entry-level carbon fiber, I definitely recommend it.

I'm VERY interested in this guitar, but there is one question I have that is an absolute make-or-break for me and nobody is addressing in reviews. What about the battery?? I know this one is rechargeable and comes with a charging cable, but is it really going to last forever? What if someone has to eventually replace the rechargeable battery? Is it a battery I can buy locally or is it proprietary? How easy is it to access the battery compartment and what is involved in it's removal and replacement?

I've done a bit of "research" on this and it looks like they use an 18650 style battery cell but maybe smaller that is accessible on the back of the preamp.. it's a pain to swap out from the sound hole but can be done. :)

I've watched many reviews of this guitar. Received a full-size version last week. Good guitar. Not until this video did I see the top, not as a honeycomb, but as chicken wire.

That's really great to hear :). Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I love my X4Pro as well, and it definitely has made people give a double take, in a good way, when I've played it in public.

Just like one of the other commenters, I have the X4 Pro and love it - not only for traveling in my camper van. However, potential buyers of it or this mini model should be aware that the top is NOT „carbon fiber“ (as in 100% carbon fiber, and thus strong and resilient), but rather from some compound. Just drop the guitar and let the edge get chipped to discover how fragile the top is! Beneath the black surface, it‘s whitish! Also, the neck and back are far from being „carbon fiber“. They are definitely some compound of whatever plastic plus some carbon something. The guitar WILL go out of tune in the sunshine (plus get rather hot, by the way), and WILL also be affected by cold. That said, I far prefer toting it around to a campfire or in my camper van (with extremes of hot and cold) than any of my wooden guitars. It serves that purpose very well, and plays beautifully (I lowered the action on mine a bit be filing the saddle down a mm or so and adjusting the truss rod). The Mini looks like a great choice, too, and I‘d recommend checking it out, especially when it‘s marked down. As for the delay, well, it‘s pretty worthless since you can‘t dial in the time properly. But the reverb, chorus and tone knobs work fine and are a great addition. Nice that the Mini has a tuner!

Very nice and it sounds amazing. I admit I got very excited at first as I mistakenly expected that the Mini was going to be an Enya X4 Pro Ukulele not a 3/4 guitar. Now I am quite bummed out. As a former, short term, guitar player who used to own a Taylor Mini you would have thought I would have realized that this was going to be a review for a 3/4 guitar and not a Uke. LOL.

Very nice guitar reviews, very enjoyable and informative! I bought one of these for my wife as I have the X4 Pro (full size). I think I like the mini better as the tone is not as thick and dark as the full size X4 and the slightly shorter scale makes it a blast to play on the couch or on stage. The zero fret is taller than I would like, so I filed down the zero fret (and crowned and polished it) so that the 1st position action is now quite nice. How did you feel about the action in first position? Also, the necks on these guitars definitely can use a little tightening (the bolts inside the sound hole) and make a difference in the sustain (it increases) and the action tends to slightly come down (about .25 - .5mm at the 12th fret). 👍

I've had a very bad pair experiences . I bought the x4 pro 41", the neck was severely bowed and would not stay in tune. I sent it back. Enya reached out to me and gave me a discount if I chose to give them another try. I bought the newest model x4 pro and again, problems. The USB does t work. Maybe a dead battery or faulty USB. I'm giving it a solid 6 hours charging before sending it back again. Beautiful guitar and case but man.. for 1000+ dollars, you don't expect problems but twice???
@2musiclover534
@2musiclover534 Жыл бұрын
In some of the Enya, the USB can take only 5 volt USB power sources. If you have a PD charger, that can deliver more volts, it does not work.

The electrical component was faulty. If they provide you with a cord for it that's supposed to be what's needed, I shouldn't have had to figure out the puzzle. I tried every cord/block possible. The battery they use had my guitar guy scratch his head too. Bought a Gretsch instead at half the price that not only stays in tune, it didn't have any faults or problems.

Like the guitar, what type of tuners does it have? What are all the functions of the controls? How does it sound acoustic and then electric? What are the dimensions of the guitar? What is the vibrating string length? What does it sound like strummed hard? What pick are you using? Just some thoughts for your full review. Nice unboxing, I enjoy your music and your videos.

Hi. Cool Video. Am I crazy or is there a Fret right under the Nut? I don't think I've ever seen that on a guitar before. Do you notice it while playing an E or A Minor chord?
@OneMusicSchool

Thanks for watching, and that fret under the "nut" is called a zero fret, which serves the function of a nut :).

Sounds really nice, but $700... phew! Quite a bit more than my Uke! I don't think my skill level warrants switching to a guitar like that just yet. :D I've been watching your Ukulele videos and practicing though!

Thank you so much for watching 😀😀. I really appreciate it. I hear you. $700 would be a lot for your first guitar. Thankfully, many companies make great starter guitars that are of decent quality at an affordable price.

You've reviewed a couple expensive nicely made Ukuleles by really good Luthier's Petros (the best), Kanile'a, Lanikai, Córdoba, Ohana & aNueNue. When are you gonna review an actual craftsmanship carbon fiber guitars like a Emerald guitar which are 100% none-pre-preg carbon fiber cloth or even a McPherson Saber and not these cheep so called carbon fiber guitars. These Enyas are actually compressed carbon composite with only a pre-preg carbon fiber top, but I guess you gotta review something that'll bring you money cause your a Enya Artist and you need to promote Enya for the sponsorship to get paid. I'm a wood worker, I work with only the finest quality exotic woods and very rare exotic woods. I love wood and tone wood guitars. I don't work with fiber glass or carbon fiber. But if I did I would only work with actually carbon fiber (that's non-pre-preg). Alot of these so called carbon fiber guitars are actually carbon injected plastic, compress carbon composite carbon or use pre-preg woven carbon fiber. Emerald Guitars uses non-pre-preg woven carbon fiber and yes there's a big difference. KDH has a video touring Emeralds factory there's probably a few others, but I've only watched his. I prefer #1 Emerald Guitars and #2 McPherson Sable when it comes to carbon fiber guitars. They are pricier, but are built by really, really good Luthier's, which means they are build with craftsmanship, are way durable, which will last way longer and sound superior, especially Emerald guitars. These mid guitars #3 KLOS Grand Cutaway, #4 Enya Nova and #5 Enya X4 for mid/cheap carbon guitars. Then you get the cheap, cheap carbon guitars, which I aint gonna mention cause they aren't worth mentioning, lol.
