Hawaii has to have the BEST senior night of all time.

Loved watching the ceremony at the end. It’s such a silly thing to put so many leis on them to where they can’t even see and yet it’s so touching! Hawaii is an amazing place with fantastic traditions. You can just feel the love this team has for each other and the fans have for the team! Hope I can go there someday ♥️

You need to understand the meaning of the lei. In the old days, you don't buy the lei from someone, you went out and picked the flowers and made the lei, you put your effort and love into it because you took the time to make it to give to someone else. They are called a lei of love because it is you giving your love to another person. Nowadays leis are bought because not everyone can get the flowers needed, and the lei makers are there for a reason, they make the lei so you don't have to take the time to collect the flowers and the time to make them yourself. Some flowers are very hard to get and aren't blooming in certain seasons. Mostly all graduations, special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, include leis. At a graduation, usually it's your family and friends giving you lei, and there are some who don't have as big a family or as much friends. A lot of these players on UH's team are not from Hawaii. It is nice to see their families adopt the tradition and participate in it as well. Many of these players do not have big families, or a lot of friends who can come to senior night, and it's the fans who will make sure that ALL of them get lei. It would be sad if one only had a few while others got a lot. Hawaii fans will never let that happen, that's why they get so many lei. They don't want any of these seniors to feel left out, they want them to feel part of the big family, which is Hawaii. It's a special occasion, and one which they won't likely do again.

I feel like losing a set is good for the team in the long run because they have to regroup and comeback strong. Have that pressure off their shoulder is gonna help them against LBSU and incoming tournaments.

Sad they lost the set streak, but the most important streak is still alive! 25 games in a row!

Gmaggedon yah tbh I’d rather lose it to these guys then to Long Beach
@brandonchae91085 жыл бұрын
FullTimeSlaya 1 same UCSB I like more than Long Beach, so I’d rather prefer UH lose their first set to UCSB than Long Beach. But I still can’t wait for that game though UH vs Long Beach.

These 4 are so full of spirit and joy that I didn’t cry this time. I watched this knowing they beat UCSB, but was still up and out of my seat jumpin. Too bad they lost the third set, but it definitely gave them a little more wisdom. #HAWAII

Pretty disappointed the band didnt play the Netherlands national anthem for Stijn. They did it for Angelica Ljungqvist and Emily Maglio. Overall, great game.

It's sad that they lost a set... but, even 3rd set, it was great comeback and so close to win. One this it has been bothering is... Coach Wade does not take time-out soon... a few points earlier would help them to come back...definitely, sad... but still winning and undefeated... maybe pressure off from being perfect will help them to play even better and stronger for next LB games! That would be the deciding matches! GO BOWS! My son and I will be travelling to cheer them!
@BerryinHI5 жыл бұрын
I agree! When UH was down 7-12 in the 3rd set, I yelled, "Timeout, Wade!"l
@coolkidsread5 жыл бұрын
Shoko Burkett I agree with your LBS comment! I think now that they lost one set y they won’t be focused on being “perfect” for next weekend against a really good LBS team. If they drop a set against them, it doesn’t matter they’re main goal is to WIN!!

1:59:36 Pretty sure that's a fault by the guy crossing the central line. Should've challenged that instead, not blaming anybody though... nearly impossible to notice.

The guys became too complacent and relaxed on that third set. But still a great game nevertheless. Kudos to the gauchos for pushing it! I’m gonna miss this senior class so much! Can they like, just, not graduate please 😭 Hope to see more of them in the future and good luck to their respective careers! 🎉

Coach Wade really tried to keep the young uh men streak going to bad he never see the net, but still hard to see on tape so probably would have not been overturned, anyways the main thing is for the young men to keep winning especially at least in four sets to keep Coah Wade young! LOL(LotsOfLove)!

Do they not call double contacts in the men’s game anymore??
@shelbymorimoto3715 жыл бұрын
Jakaris Brown right? What the heck. They are SOOOOOO much more strict in women’s volleyball oh my lord
@locomojoboy25 жыл бұрын
There was one instance I noticed from Hawaii that probably should have been called for a double but didn’t.
@shelbymorimoto3715 жыл бұрын
locomojoboy2 one? ONE?? lol. Worsley isn’t as bad but the other teams setter literally double contacted almost every time he jump set the ball
@locomojoboy25 жыл бұрын
Mrs Moto Oh, I guess I didn’t notice it
@shelbymorimoto3715 жыл бұрын
locomojoboy2 you’re probably very used to watching men’s volleyball. I’ve watched a decent amount but have played, coached, and watched 100 times more women’s volleyball and we have doubles called on us for the tiniest bit of rotation on the ball it’s insane

I was a little disappointed in the challenge at the end of the third set. That wasn’t a classy move, and I have considered the Hawai’i coaching staff a classy bunch
@roderickmobley79555 жыл бұрын
hankakah but was there anything to actually challenge? The back row attack was not close at all. I understand if there is a reason to challenge but when there is no expectation of winning the challenge, I just think it is bad form. John Cook did this at the end of the women’s national championship on championship point and I thought that was a bad look as well
@locomojoboy25 жыл бұрын
Hawaii played very shitty compared to UCSB. The whole game I was yelling “BLOCK THE FUCKING BALL!!!” Half the time they couldn’t block the ball, the other half they didn’t even jump off the floor to attempt a block. How the hell are we the #1 team in blocks when we got rekt and looked like amateurs? It was absolutely mind boggling. And once again, UCSB was able to use their heads and adapt while we kept doing the same dumb shit like spiking it right into 3 blockers rather than hit it where they are not. I laughed at all the times UH went up to triple block and their hitter just ended up hitting it in the big ass hole we left wide open. Unlike our guys trying to show how macho they can spike the ball, UCSB used their brains and played smarter. I just know that if they lost, they would have definitely deserved it because of how shitty they played. Hopefully this set loss is exactly what they needed to get their shit together and start playing like they actually want it.
