It's hard to find hobbies when your career is a hobby like someone "oh I play games and stream on the weekends just for fun" . . . Part of her job "i draw i really like re-creating fight scenes in manga" . . . Her main job is manga illustration "i go out and do karaoke with my friends get alil tipsy and cover songs like we're stars" . . . (Insert all the covers and live performances she's done) the problem is when you do hobbies as your job you got to work extra hard at em to make sure you can keep doing them as you job and not just have a lot of cool hobbies you do working some office job ect

answer to that insect question: yes, in Thailand there's a lot of ppl who eats insect. I haven't tried one myself but they eat it not because it tastes like shrimp. and no, uncooked insect can be quite nasty.

Hi Yura, what is the Japanese phrase when the beauty salon asks Ui if she has any hobbies? I thought it would just be 趣味がありますか? but Ui says a lot more that I couldn't catch. Thanks! Will be helpful for learning.

She said, "ご趣味とかなんかあたりするんですか?" I'm not very sure what あたりする means, but i feel like it's basically the same thing with what you wrote, just more polite. I'm still learning so might be mistaken though.

@@kombuchachacha2418 I think it's あったりする which is the ~たり form of ある. This form serves to list actions and has a meaning of "...and similar", basically the same as とか does for nouns. So yeah, with とか, なんか and ~たり this is a very roundabout and polite sentence to ask about someone's hobbies.
