UI Designer, UX Designer, Product Designer, Interaction Designer... there are so many job titles these days that it's easy to get confused. Not sure what is the difference between UI, UX and Web Design? Today, Julia is going to be talking about what UI and UX designers do, about their tasks, how to actually become a UI or UX designer and why web designers are something different.

UI/UX or Web Designer: What's the difference?
There are UI/UX designers and web designers. However, they all do something different and it's important to clearly understand the difference. If you know the difference, then you can understand what you need to focus on to become a professional in a certain field.
The difference can be briefly described the following way:
📌UI - a user interface designer focuses on the controls that are used to interact with a website or an application. UI designers pay special attention to the page layout, responsiveness of design, colors, fonts, interactive elements, etc.
📌UX - a user experience designer deals with users' experience. A UX designer has to consider why and how the website is used. UX designers should also consider how they can make a website better. They may decide to add new features and elements. It includes a great number of factors to consider.
📌Web design - a web designer focuses on various aspects. They focused on the website design, but they also should know how to code. Web designers know HTML, CSS and sometimes JavaScript. Web designers work with front-end (what you see), while web developers deal with back-end (how a website works).
Web designers work with websites only, while UI or UX designers can work with applications. Moreover, UI designers are focused on art entirely, while web designers know how to code. UX designers use various tools to understand if the product provides users with the best possible experience. The difference between UX and UI design is that UI designers are focused on "art", while UX designers are all about the experience (how users like the website).

I'll try a couple things out, and if it works I'll get back to you here and let you know! And if not, we'll brainstorm it together with the team :) Maybe this week there will be a tutorial "Blurry sticky header with Elementor Pro". Fingers crossed! Thanks for this request, it will be super exciting to try.

I believe learning is best done when it becomes an experience. And that is when attending formal class. You tube learning is deceptive
@templatemonster
@templatemonster 4 жыл бұрын
I can't disagree! :) Attending classes and learning in an academic environment (or at least taking an extensive course) is an extremely valuable experience and will give you an extensive amount of knowledge. But the thing is, not everyone lives in the area where going to an art school is an available option, as well as not everyone has the funds to do so. Signing up for an online course seems to be a viable option but with online courses one very important component is missing - your mentor's feedback about your work, which is an important part of a learning process. As you've pointed out, you learn best when you practice. And once you start working in the field, you'll be gaining experience, collecting feedback from colleagues and clients, but what are the options for a complete beginner? KZbin isn't always a perfect resource for education, but it is a great one to start with, and later move on to things like online/offline courses with a mentor, books, workshops, etc. If you CAN go to an art school - that's awesome, definitely do so! But if you can't, it doesn't mean you can't become a designer or will be a bad one :)

but UI/UX is together or can I be only UI or UX?
@templatemonster
@templatemonster 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Bianca! Great question :) Well, UI and UX design complete each other. UI design is the look of the interface, and UX design - is the logic and structure behind it, concerning the entire website/app/another product. Those can be done by one person, or by two different people. You can TOTALLY only be a UI designer, and only create beautiful layouts without having to worry about the stuff that UX designers do. In a bigger team working on some large-scale projects like eCommerce stores or mobile apps, this is exactly what it looks like. UX designers figure out what direction they need to go to provide the best experience for their users, and gather all the needed info and conduct research, run testing, etc. and the UI designers come into the play when it's time to create all the visual assets and develop the actual design system. But if you're a freelancer or work in a smaller team on smaller projects you can be doing both of these :)
