In the 1st one, Yuno and Yuko had been the only ones left from the diary holders and tried to commit suicide, eating pills, which Yuno didn't actually swallow, thus becoming the new God. She tried resurrecting Yuno, which couldn't be done, so she just created the 2nd universe, so she can have some more time with Yuko. Such a maniac, don't you think? :D
