ウインダリア / Windaria (1986) a classic Japanese animated film subtitled in English.
IMDB: www.imdb.com/ti...
This is the UNCUT original version, not available commercially in North America, enjoy.
---------
Notice: I do not own the rights to this, I did not subtitle this, I don't even remember where the file came from originally. I just uploaded it to KZbin because felt the original version should be shared. This is a Fan-Sub made for free for everyone to enjoy.
If the copyright owner asks me to remove it, I will do so.
But as of now the DVD seems to be out of print, and there is no blu-ray so this is best option to view it.

Thank God! Somebody has the same mind. Everyone here seems sad & crying...but I am here completely pissed off. I was wishing that Marin is dead before the Movie ends coz that is just disgusting that you would go back to your wife after you just f*ck your mistress & hasn't even showered yet. ALL his brains went to his private part, like he didn't think that it would kill the citizens of that city & flood the Village Blossoms where Marin lives, he is that imbecile to not even check on Marin. He was so surprised that the City was flooded like he had no idea when he tried to he a hero in the very beginning. I can't seem to understand how he seems to be completely unaware of the consequences. The story straight jumped off to worst after the Prince & Princess died. Even the Prince was also dumb, I really cannot believe this is how the movie ended.

Holy Jesus on Roller Skates! That's the anime I was looking for almost 30 years, and someone posted it the cover on Facebook, which led me here! I remember watching it on the Turkish Public TV (TRT) sometimes in a summer (1990, 1991 or 1992) while I was spending my summers in Syria. Back then the Syrian public TV would not open until 3:00PM, and because we were in Aleppo, you would get antenna signal from the TRT (the only problem is they speak Turkish, so I could not understand anything). But it was a Japanese anime so I was more than happy. I did not have the chance of watching the title, but I remember the brunette girl diving from a dam, then someone sabotaging the dam, with the saboteur stopped by her.

Wow, this is the first time I watch this and, wow, that doesn't ended like I thought it would, many things could be avoided, the prince could just have stop his people and bring peace to the 2 countrys, or just the 2 lovers could have scape of all that madness, but the pression and desesperation blind them, the hero who make the wrong choice, couldn't see even in front of his eyes the corruption of the other nation, deciding on trusting them for his own greed, it's onestly frustrating, but I understand it, and I respect it, because it really show how people can become so stupid just because the desires and greediness, even if they have happiness already, this just taught so many messages and bring other perspective of how a story could go, the whole situation could have been resolved, but everything just go wrong, I will remeber this movie, at least, for what it is, a great tragedy below the souls of the ghoast ship.

Thank you. Decades ago I saw the English dubbed version released by Streamline Pictures. I enjoyed it at the time, but my fond memories of it were later spoiled when I discovered the truth. It had inaccurately translated dialogue, character names changed, scenes cut, and voice over narration (by Russell Johnson of Gilligan's Island) which did not exist in the original. Now THIS is the authentic version.

I didn't see it till 1995, when I was in my last year of junior high/middle school. From what I later learned, what I saw was some edited for time/content cut of the film. Still, the art was beautiful, though the cuts made the story confusing.

I have been searching for this anime for 34 years now. that ending stuck with me. The thing is i thought the story has a more tragic end. My 6 year old self thought the girl was lost forever that's why there hero was crying in the end + the sad music. maybe the dubbing was not good or i was too young to understand that he just needed to wait half a year to see her again. i thought for 34 years that he would never see her again. at least now i know they will still meet after half a year. This anime thought my young mind that sometimes the hero is not destined to stay with the girl. and it made me ready for what was to come in my older years. EDIT: now that i watched it fully as an adult, Izu is not a hero he's just an A-hole who forgot about Marin for 3 months and then just conveniently became in love with her again. was he mind controlled? Amnesia? why did he act surprised when he saw the ruins of the city that he destroyed? did i miss something?
