I'm a fan since 84 with Metal on Metal. I saw them for the first time when they were on tour with AC/DC after the movie was out the first time. I saw them again two years ago. Anvil is a great band. They always release great albums. Twice I saw them they are amazing Live. All metal fans in Canada wake the F..K up and support the band. 🤘 Mighty Anvil🤘from a TRUE Anvil fan

Small club tours can be surprisingly lucrative. Like, they're not millionaires by a long stretch but I bet they make at least 50k each a year after everything is paid for. Which isn't much in the grand scheme of things but I bet it sure beats working a day job.

I've been to plenty rehearsal sessions over at the studio @ Jane & Finch, North York, ON. Good times? 👍 let's talk about it. Heck, my band Tyrus backup Anvil at the Grand West strip joint, on Keele just north of Finch. And that's the bottom line.

Im happy for them that the documentary gave them a boost and opportunity to make a living touring. They seem like great guys. All that being said barring the first few albums, they dont write great songs. Musically solid but lyrically poor. That's just my opinion though and I wish them all the luck in the world
@PerfectMask14 ай бұрын
They are a band who seem to blame everbody but themselves for their lack of success. Writing consistantly good songs would help I reckon.

Did these guys intend to make a movie like “Spinal Tap”? If they’re sincere, I wish them the best, but this film seems to be too smarmy to be serious. Anvil comes off as a cartoon. They’re too typical to appear as serious. This has to be a joke, right? 🤔

There's a reason Anvil didn't make it. They don't make very good music. They barely break 2000-3000 total sales per album and aside from maybe one or two big gig invites every year because of their cult status, they play to maybe a thousand people per gig. Anvil is the perfect example of the fact that passion can only take you so far.

@@WolfHeathen Can you refer to which albums you believe to be “not very good music”? That argument doesn’t hold true as they were revolutionary for their time, it’s too subjective to say their music wasn’t very good when it’s obviously not the case if we want to use the “big 4” as an example, I was just at a show in Toronto at a famous club which they sold out…

I'm glad Steve and Robb got their second chance, they deserve it, but I don't buy Steve's opinion they failed first time around because of bad management. They fell by the wayside because their music just wasn't any good.
