In this chapter we are going to explain the details of Classic and Modern Folder. We will talk about the difference and more over we will also see the practical difference between both of these 2 folder types.
The Classic Folder in Uipath Orchestrator has following properites:
Contains provisioned robots and environments
Users are assigned at the tenant level
In the classic model robot can be part of only one folder
A classic folder, named Default, is created for each new tenant
You can create as many additional classic folders as needed.
classic folders where each is a separate, flat structure
And here is the list of properties of the modern folder:
Automatic provision of robots as the user and no environment concept
Users are assigned at the folder level
Combined with Active Directory integration
Enable you to set roles per user, per folder.
You can have up to six sub folders under each first level
Each Sub folder inherit the role assignment model of their parent

Usually while explaining these kinds of concepts it is better to start with a Visualization of problem or concept to explain logically why this is important. Take a sample scenario from real life case instead of creating Dev1 , dev 2 folders e.g

Hi :) my question is around modern folder creation. As of the more recent versions of orchestrator, we are able to create modern folders with tenant package feed or new package feed. Can a modern folder created with new package feed option be converted into tenant package feed?

Hi. Unfortunately you didn' really explained how to create robot in Modern Folder. You mentioned that there's no more robot and environment concept in Modern Folders but you didn't really show what should be done instead. It would be great to see classic folder configuration vs modern folder configuration with real examples. Perhaps you can do it? Regards.

Generally classic folders are in use but all depends on the organisation and the features one wants to utilise
