@satch7123 the slump is broken down into manufacturing and construction, for example, while legal (service) is not in a decline. This indicates import issues of items used for manufacturing. Increased trading restrictions put blocks in place from closest states, and further abroad means more trading route disruption due to the wars etc. Increased costs for energy has compounded this too. It doesn't surprise me that media outlets don't discuss the factors associated, and only report the issue.

Who'd of thought that adding £10,000s of extra NI on small business and £Millions would stop them from investing and hiring and slow down the economy?
@matrixberzins465Ай бұрын
According to the IMF, Britain's external debt to GDP is 101%. 60% is already considered bad according to macroeconomic indicators - Great Britain, as well as many other European countries, have long crossed this red line. This means that it is difficult to borrow money in international financial markets with low interest rates. For example, countries such as Poland, which has a 49% foreign debt, or Latvia, which has 43%, feel quite stable at the moment - that's why these countries borrow money to pour into their infrastructure facilities, which contributes to the fact that at least unemployment does not increase, especially in the regions. It would be interesting to find information about the level of private sector debt in Great Britain, which would show the real size of the problem, because if the state cannot increase spending, then there is always hope for private investors in the economy, but if the private sector is also in a bad state, then is really bad!
@Fab666.Ай бұрын
Debt in actual cash is more worrying. As some countries can sustain 200% debt to gdp for years and it wouldn’t match lvls held by others
