The Scottish parliament voted by 69-59 in favour of IndyRef2. The SNP had it in there election manifesto that if there is a significant change such as Scotland being forced out of the EU then there should be another independence referendum. The Scottish people voted by 62% to stay in the EU Westminster has ignored the Scottish parliament, Scottish government and the Scottish people. Scotland has not voted by a majority for the Torys for 60 years. Yet the Torys have governed Scotland for 36 years of those 60 years. Scotland gets the government that the English vote for. In an independent Scotland the Scottish people would be governed by the government that they vote for and not be governed by the government that another country voted for. Westminster has a track record of ignoring Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland views. It also has a decades old record of favouring investment in the London and the south east of England. Being independent is normal, if you asked a Canadian, Australian and New Zealand citizens to give up there independence try be ruled over by the incompetent Westminster politicians they would tell you to fuck off.

DUP have steered the ship towards a United Ireland. The people of England don’t want Northern Ireland. That terrifies the unionists.
@SkyEcho7

Just wondering: 1) WHAT was it that the DUP saw as a benefit to the people of NI in leaving the EU that made them campaign for it? 2) WHAT BrExit deal, specifically & in detail, did the DUP want that is DELIVERABLE? 3) Could it be that the DUP are not in the least bit interested in BrExit at ALL other than as a vehicle for Westminster Direct Rule in all but name? CLEARLY the ONLY party at Westminster that the DUP could support is the Tories so why even ask 😏

booseyhey That’s incoherent: 1) There isn’t much inflow of people into NI (I’m from NI and haven’t noticed anything significant?). All NI businesses are completely opposed to Brexit, they think it will be disastrous for NI. Never heard 1 NI business say they wanted Brexit so they could get government subsidies and tariffs? Do you know of one? 2) there’s no such thing as a soft/electronic border, it’s a unicorn, it doesn’t exist. 3) “They are genuinely interested in Brexit” - that’s an incoherent statement that doesn’t mean anything. What is it specifically about Brexit that they are interested in?
@SkyEcho7
@SkyEcho7 4 жыл бұрын
@booseyhey So the DUP want to make business less competitive ... Tariffs on goods sold to the EU ... whilst making imports more expensive by adding tariffs & that's a good thing 😏 EU Commissioners: 1) are proposed by the EU Council of Ministers, (CoM are the Cabinet Ministers, including the PMs from Member States). 2) they have to be approved by the EU Parliament, (MEPs elected by the people in each Member State). EU laws can be: 1) proposed by the a) Commissioners b) Council of Ministers c) EU Parliament 2) amended & approved by the Council of Ministers AND the MEPs to become law. Seems pretty democratic to me & more so than at Westminster where the unelected House of Lords can drag out the process for changing / creating new laws for YEARS.

@booseyhey anyone voting for Brexit in NI in the hopes that our industry's will benefit from tariffs or subsidies is in for quite a shock. The big monied backers of Brexit want an open door policy to cheap goods from around the world. Our agriculture will be drastically reduced and industries decimated whilst big sectors like health will have to be thrown open to competition from the likes of American corporations. Only the very fittest sections of our manufacturing will survive whilst niche industries will prosper selling peculiarly British goods globally. We are predominantly a service economy and this will only become more so post any Brexit. The big difference will be increased disparities of wealth as our merchant/managerial class benefit from selling off the national silver whilst opportunities decline for those at the bottom and we become evermore a gig economy nation.

It is my understanding, that people voted for Brexit on the condition there would be no border in Ireland, and the Good Friday Agreement would be honored. A democracy is what is voted on is accepted and applied. How should I know what is happening in Ulster. My family from Tullykelter, County Fermanagh Royalist Anglicans fought allied with those rebellious Irish Catholics against Cromwell, and my many great a Daniel Elliot was transported as a Cromwellian slave to The Colonies. Well us rebellious colonist had a solution for the Tories and Loyalist, during the time of our American Revolution we strung them up and tared and feathered them.

As a Australian , who's ancestry is Irish Catholic( Kilkenny & Dublin ) The Torres, Or as they were Once known as the Wigs. The Oldest Political Party In England the very Essence of The Glory of all that is British. How could anyone in NI , honestly believe that they have ever Given a Damn about Ireland. When Brexit became a thing , they took NO Consideration Of The Good Friday Agreement , even the EU recognized that ! The Republic of Ireland , understood & recognized that, I wonder why? Maybe they understand & remember Ireland's History. Look at Hong Kong today ? England Fault, when the lease the UK had on it ran out in 1992 & Hong Kong would be back to China. They are Chinese , now all of residents left then. A lot moved to Australia. Have No Problem with the Chinese , Japanese or other parts of the Asia Pacific. We have Free Trade Agreements because Australia are part of the Asia Pacific. All England Scotland , Wales & The Ireland Of Ireland are Europe. The Republic Of Ireland realized that . For those that don't , now you have to Put you Faith in the USA. History Reminder. They don't do anything , without them coming Out On Top. Historically they never have & yes alot still to this Day Still don't like Protestants Or Catholic.
