@Hauntedman, it's more about the editing as well. American series tend to edit heavily for maximum drama focus. There's also less sportsmanship in the American version I've noticed. Here and in the Aussie version the Gladiators will shake or hug after events apart from Oblivion. (All the others will say something like "well done" or "good effort) Although admittedly they will still get a few potshots on occasions.

Joust was on an air bike and Duel was on a platform. I don't think I would enjoy any of them. I was too young when all this was happening but heroes for getting out there.

Comparison time!!! Seeing both the UK and American revivals, Panther ( V2 ) and her American counterpart Crush are queens of Duel.... Joust here in the USA. I wonder if anyone knocked out both on Duel/ Joust? Maybe I'll keep watching, the answers are out there.

i love the uk and aussie version of gladiators. they are much more exciting and of course the amazing accents! :)

Shame that it's nowhere near as good as the original. Inferno is pretty hot though.
