Mark did the eliminator in 49 seconds and broke Phil Norman's previous record yet was never given credit for it as the claimed Wesley Berry broke it when he did it 50 seconds in the IG semi.

Because he lost. Also for "record" purposes, the clock starts when contender 1 starts. Therefore it doesn't matter if Mark did it in 49s - the total time is actually 58.5s. Whereas Phil Norman did it in 54s and won.

I had no idea Mark's Eliminator record beat Phil Norman's. Was that in the heats, or the Quarters ? he was bloody quick in both, he only lost in the Quarters because he was SO far behind on points going into the eliminator. A bit closer in the score and no doubt it would've been a different story

@@deltabravo4097 It was in this show but still not quick enough to beat the BEZ MAN. However, the record should still count even though he lost as Sarah Damm lost in the final of Series 5 but still got the prize for running the fastest eliminator in the final she lost.

@@CraigPaulWilson It's called personal time. Mark's own time on the Eliminator starts when his whistle goes. Like others pointed out, in later seasons contenders won the fastest eliminator prize for an eliminator run they LOST at.

I think Mark Skipper was the only contender this season to grab a RED Ball in Swingshot, both the boys score though could've been much higher had Paul not stripped all the easy points away from the cylinder!

Hunter used to always bloody do that and I swear it was on purpose to lower the scoring as swingshot was one of the few games that Hunter wasn't particularly good at.

Yeah, proved totally irrelevant in the end, but if the outcome of the eliminator had gone against Kerryn, she'd SERIOUSLY have the right to be annoyed as that would've no doubt proved decisive

Kerryn completely overshot the crash mat in dropping off the zip line! She's lucky that didn't cause her an injury. Deserved it, especially after Melissa not being DQ'd in Duel for only trying twice to hit Nightshade in thirty seconds.

Likewise. I was never that fit, but I was at least in the right weight range back in the 1990s when Gladiators originally aired. I'm now in my 40s and have become a couch potato and I don't like what I have become. So I need to do something about it!

At one point our college did do a summer version of one event in a winner stays on format and that was Duel. The podiums however were quite a bit lower to the ground.

All the difference on this show was Paul beating Hunter on Poleax. Those 10 points gave him 5 additional seconds of headstart on Mark. And when you look at that Eliminator, Mark runs that thing so damn fast, he eats away over 5 seconds of Paul's lead... Nevertheless, Mark shattered Phil Norman's record here and it's a shame that he never got any credit for it.

No - That honour went to Paul Beswick's oponnent in round 6 Ian Simpson .Ironically it was also Ian Simpson that ended Saracen's undefeated record on Hang Tough when he ( Saracen ) was disqualified for having both feet on the platform he was defending

@@deltabravo4097 Ludwig beat Saracen in Series 1 when he got disqualified again, the only 2 times that Saracen conceded 10 points in Hang Tough in the domestic series so it wasn't the first time. The only time someone reached his platform was Paul Reynolds in the 2nd Ashes Series.

Just highlights why indoor numbers are a waste of time. You were 25 yards down with your irons and nearly 50 with the driver. Good for winter and path and alignment but nothing beats outdoors
