Such good memories! Can't believe it's been 25 years. Good old fashioned fun. Lightning and Ellery on the wall.. lol! I wouldn't mind some of that action, a-thank-you! Lighting is so funny, she's so well spoken like the prime minister lol. What a cutie. These days many would be offended by some of the banter that was going on. It was all in good fun, and all the athletes did really well. Great show!

A lot of rule-bending on the Pursuit course. This definitely shows why they recoloured one of the lanes in future series, though I didn't like that they completely changed the order of the course in the process. We never did get that match between Fash and Derek Redmond. The following year had a Battle of the Champions featuring Australian, Ashes, and International champions competing against each other. The year after that had the only British gold medalists from the Atlanta Olympics, along with several other Olympians, and I think by that point, Redmond had left the show. Oh, and future Gladiator cameo at 7:33.

Yes there were a lot of rule bending in Pursuit, but since it was for charity I think John Anderson let the rules slide on this episode

Don't know how much his hamstring could have handled the entire competition, but if Derek gave it a shot as a contender, he could have been champion. He looked even better than Fash did the previous year.

Derek Redmond! Never forget how fast he went up that travelator! Never saw anyone else destroy the travelator like it wasn't even there. Would have been fantastic to see him go up against International champion Wesley Berry in the Eliminator! Derek could have taken Two Scoops at the end.

If you're talking about the one played here, it's called "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf", originally from the 1933 Disney cartoon "The Three Little Pigs".

Martin should not had been allowed thoes 10 points after Pursuit, it was unfair to the other guys who were caught. He was the one who went on the wrong wire bridge, causing the mix up and skipping majority of the hand ladder.

The hand ladder was used instead of the hand bike on nearly all the specials, even on the Battle of the Giants special in 1999. The only exception was the Armed Forces special in 1994, where the hand bike was used.

Bit of a mockery of an event with rule breaking and bending left, right and center, Martin Offiah on pursuit was taking the piss, but Redmond would have won anyway whoever he was against I expect. He is actually there often as an official alongside John Anderson in the regular episodes, so he obviously had an inside scoop on tricks and technique for many of the events. and last year Fashanu one, so both times was a bit of a fix and a sham...
@patcrites5274 Жыл бұрын
