If Starmer and Labour are in government, giving back Museum pieces (most of which were purchased or given as gifts) will be the least of Britain’s people. Will we (taxpayers) or the family of the donors get back the purchase price in today’s money? Does this mean Europe can start demanding the reparation of its’ artwork, documents, etc? Ashanti people, now Ghana, were a slave trading people who sold Africans to Europeans (they grew immensely wealthy from it), and practiced human sacrifice. Sending anything back to Ethiopia at this time would be foolish; museum artefacts tend to end up either destroyed (remember Iraq), or on the black market and in private collections.
