Before anybody else complains about the music please consider these things: 1. I shot these using a single GoPro mounted on my helmet. All this records is wind noise, which is very unpleasant to listen to. To record engine and other ambient sounds would require multiple microphones which I don't have. The voiceover was added later. Without the music to hold it together there'd just be dead silence - or shrieking wind blast - which would be quite odd. 2. I know the music isn't great, but cheesy library music is all it seems you can get away with. If I used better music I'd just get a copyright strike against the video and the audio would be muted anyway (I've tried). So, sorry if it offends you, but please don't feel that I need to be told (again) how much the music annoys you.

I enjoyed the video, thank you very much. I muted the sound, as I was here for the scenery.

I've just got back from a 4 day tour around mid wales, chirk, Llangollen, Aberystwyth, Bala, devils bridge, the Ponderosa.... Top speed for me and my mate was 55. Yet I ride a Kawasaki Gpz1100E and my mate a 900 legend. You don't need a modern bike, loads of power, big panniers or top box to enjoy the roads. Just an Oxford T30 roll bag, a few rock straps and waterproofs. Ride and enjoy.

Nice to see one of our local routes shown on video - The place you stopped is known as the Bwlch with the village at the bottom of the valley before Treorchy being Cwm Parc. Had you actually taken a left at the end of the 4061 into Treorchy and turned left at the lights, it would have taken you to the Rhigos, a climb with hairpins towards the Brecon beacons with equally stunning views and hairpins alike. That would have brought you back to the M4 or the option of travelling the A469 to join with the A449 and eventually the M4 again the 'better side' of the Newport Tunnels. The other is the continuation of the A4059/A470 to Brecon, then across the A40 across to the A449 as before...All damn good roads when the weather is kind.

Bwlch y Clawdd is the ancient pass between the dykes at the summit. To the right the ancient path leads to the Maindy Roman camp. Up over the Rhigos and return via Maerdy mountain from Where are makes a nice run on a sunny day. Wasn't such a nice day for this year's Tour of Britain final leg, however.

I lived in there when I was a child, some 30 yrs ago. I’m surprised you didn’t continue onto the Rhigos mountain and on towards Brecon. These roads are stunning and well worth the time. I was there 3 weeks ago during the heat wave and as your video shows the roads are very quiet, however a word of warning for everyone, watch out for the sheep, they just walk out on you so keep your eye’s peeled. Enjoy.

At 6:02 you should have gone left then your next right into Treorchy Town. (left atthe light) You missed another cracking mountain pass with views of Pen Y Fan ( brecon beacons) in the distance.

Really cool video, it's making me want to ride for no real purpose like I used to :). My favourite roads are: A4069 Maerdy road between Aberdare and Maerdy A4061 between Treherbert and Hirwaun and the crème da la crème.... The A4059, the little attention that road receives is extradentary, much better than the A470 that runs aside it, you see wild ponies too :).

Thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, the A4069 is great. It's on my list for another video, when I ever get around to doing some more filming! I think I have ridden the A4059, but not for a long time. And yes, ride with the purpose to just enjoy the experience of riding - good for the soul.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video. This is a really good day trip suggestion, i love riding in Wales and am always on the lookout for new routes. The music was fine, significantly better than some of the amateur heavy metal that pollutes biker videos. Good stuff😂

Ah,such happy memories of those roads!(Im now a Cheshire resident)IShould have headed for Abergavenny bus park(Full of bikes on wk.end!)&headed east or south(shorter southwest,Newport,)back down toM4!Much more scenic than the dreaded M4!👍😁🏴
@Titaniumparts2 жыл бұрын
I go to Abergavenny often. In ordinary times I might have headed that way, but this was shot at height of the pandemic (and pre vax) so I was remaining strictly solitary.

Sorry you are wrong, the "town nestling in the valley floor is NOT Treorchy, but is Cwmparc, Treorchy is in the background in the main valley.
@Jer08673 жыл бұрын
3:36 That is Cwmparc you are zooming in on; Treorchy is further beyond, and not clearly visible from that spot.

Oops. I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.

@@Titaniumparts No problem, mate! It's just that I know that route very well, as it's one of my favourite spins! Hope it was taken the right way, as no offence was meant! Great video, though...all the best from Llanelli! 👍

You should have turned left at the lights in Treorchy and gone over the Rhigos mountain to Aberdare and then back to the M4 or even better Usk to Chepstow then on to the old severn bridge.
@Titaniumparts2 жыл бұрын
Well, I try to keep the videos short-ish. I don't know the Aberdare route, but I'll look into it. But I'm certainly very familiar with Usk-Chepstow and that was in fact the first video I made in this series.

Not anymore 2023, 20mph road limit!
@Titaniumparts Жыл бұрын
I'm no fan of 20 limits - we've had them in Bristol for years - but my understanding is that they only apply in urban/residential situations, it's not everywhere. It's also fair to say, again from Bristol experience at least, that they're not exactly strictly enforced. For me it remains the case that you should ride/drive with care and attention appropriate to the road conditions; interpret that as you will.
