The Hartside café was the standard stopping place for us on a Sunday ride from Newcastle to the Lakes but the old café burned down in 2018 which was really sad. Thankfully a new, modern one has got planning permission so maybe next time you're over there you can enjoy a brew with a view too. ☺️

Lol, a touching moment for the pair of you to revisit the place fo your marriage! I assumed it would have been Wales or Switzerland! The Hartside pass was very popular a few years back, there was a great biker friendly cafe at the top which unfortunately burnt down! There was talk of it being re-built but it seems to have hit a few planning snags. The Lake District is stunning, unfortunately there are very often too many people visiting what is actually quite a small area and congestion can be really frustrating ! Glad you had some nice weather to explore. Thanks for sharing this lovely trip with us.

Hi both. We are relatively new to biking and my wife is a recent convert, so two up touring is our new obsession. We really enjoy your vids and find them really informative and helpful. I have recently upgraded to the GS, very similar to yours, and its a revelation. We love everything about it. Just wanted to ask.... where is the road in this video which you ride at sunset? We’re hoping to retrace your ride from the Hartside pass into Keswick, where we had our honeymoon. Woody (Of Llangollen)
