I'm envious...you attract good weather , you find nice hotels on the hop, and you only get a fly in your helmet whereas I get a wasp!

Haha it’s true!! We do seem to get more of our fair share of good weather! -we are still in a state of disbelief 🤣 Haha wasp in the lid might trigger panic stations 😁

The weather does a lot but what an absolutely gorgeous views of the Lake District and fantastic roads to ride on. As a kid In was there with my parents long time ago maybe its time to return per bike. Thanks guys.

The Hartside café was the standard stopping place for us on a Sunday ride from Newcastle to the Lakes but the old café burned down in 2018 which was really sad. Thankfully a new, modern one has got planning permission so maybe next time you're over there you can enjoy a brew with a view too. ☺️

Really sad it burnt down and a shame it’s taken so long to get rebuilt. It will be a great stopping point when the new one is built!! -plenty of people will appreciate that 😎👍🏻

Hartside is my local run, so glad you got to ride it. There used to be a cracking cafe at the summit carpark till it burnt down a few years ago... biking meca all the way over the pass

Hi Craig, fantastic area to have as you local run! oh it burnt down! -I was thinking i had got it confused with another place as I vaguely remembered there being a café -a new one would do well with all the people that frequent there .

Not been in Kes Ick………since my boyhood years. It’s still lovely. Just back from a small trip on my 350 Meteor, to Ullapool. Visit here at least 8 times a year. Hopefully get up next year and use as my base, to do daily runs from.😊 Stay safe.

Excellent video, Alston, Hartside Pass, Ambleside, Kendal etc, that’s my regular stomping ground. Beautiful when the weather is good but absolutely brutal in the winter. 😂

A fantastic area with some top rides!!! Can imagine winter is a bit sketchy to say the least. Remember riding in Autumn there and a bit of rain combined with the leaves on the road made for some very slippery conditions lol 😆

Both are incredible spots! Loch Lomond is magical, but the Lake District really has a special charm too. Do you have a favorite route in either of those places?

How lovely you got married in Melmerby, lovely ride down Hartside too… PS. I was recommended the back road round Ullswater a few weeks back but it was closed for repairs, next time.

Hi Ian, yeah Melmerby Hall was the perfect location - i believe we were the first to get married there but there has been subsequent weddings there since. It's a nice route, hopefully it will be open again soon 😊

Can’t believe you got married at melmerby..I live a few miles from there and am blessed with great roads all around me..really enjoyed your vids of the Lake District and everywhere else..unlike some it doesn’t bother me about your pronunciation of certain places..I’d like to hear them pronounce some of the places you’ve been in Europe,I doubt they’d get many right..anyway look forward to the rest of your journey and keep up the great work..cheers

Lol, a touching moment for the pair of you to revisit the place fo your marriage! I assumed it would have been Wales or Switzerland! The Hartside pass was very popular a few years back, there was a great biker friendly cafe at the top which unfortunately burnt down! There was talk of it being re-built but it seems to have hit a few planning snags. The Lake District is stunning, unfortunately there are very often too many people visiting what is actually quite a small area and congestion can be really frustrating ! Glad you had some nice weather to explore. Thanks for sharing this lovely trip with us.

Hi both. We are relatively new to biking and my wife is a recent convert, so two up touring is our new obsession. We really enjoy your vids and find them really informative and helpful. I have recently upgraded to the GS, very similar to yours, and its a revelation. We love everything about it. Just wanted to ask.... where is the road in this video which you ride at sunset?
