Is that your stock comment to all dash cammers? You do tend to see that a lot and it winds me up. I am not guilty of it though however, if I'm mistaken, please point me to where I do this and I will gladly hold my hands up? The only place I can see where it may seem that way is at 2:13 but in the real world, I was looking right to make sure the roundabout was clear then accelerated after slowing down for the junction. The lorry's indicator flashed 3 times before I hit the brakes and the suns glare has a different effect on human eyes than it does on the camera so the indicators weren't very obvious.

+Jack McCutcheon he wasn't indicating until the last minute, that combined with the sun and me making sure it was clear from the right made it impossible to predict. The roundabout is plenty big enough for an hgv to take from the correct lane.

+SalesDriver Actually he was indicating long before you were even level with rear axle of the trailer, clearly you're not paying attention to what's happening. I counted 5 flashes of his right indicator before it was out of view of your camera so I know if you were actually looking you could have seen it for a lot longer than what it shows in the video.

@@TheUkdan02 4 years late to the party but I agree with you, usually if a lorry if going to go around the roundabout they'd straddle both lanes to stop someone coming up on the inside of them and they'd indicate well in advance. Just a dumb mistake on his end though and a good lesson for you to sit back a bit more and assume a lorry drivers might do that in the future, we live and we learn, right?

The poor bollard at 3:50 is the exact reason the lorry at 2:15 is using the outside lane instead of flipping the trailer on the roundabout. Due to a limited turning circle, in the highway code it states that that are allowed to use either lane or even straddle both depending on the size of the HGV and roundabout

erm, that isn't a dual carriageway. a dual carriageway has to have barriers dividing the opposite ways of travel. what you were driving was a national speed limit road with an overtaking lane (so you can overtake slow movers like lorries). the speed limit is still 60, not 70

My BSM Driving instructor has always told me, National speed limit where there are 2 lanes is 70mph unless signposted, Single lane national is 60 unless signposted.

LOLGotYerTags That's not true it is 70 on a dual carrigeway (so two separate roads in essence) so could still only have have one lane in each direction; whereas it is 60 on a single carriageway (no separation between opposing direction traffic) no matter how many lanes there are. Even though doing 70 or 80 is still safe and often necessary to overtake slower moving traffic in plenty of time.

The van driver saw the cyclist and decided to accelerate to try and undertake me. I used the horn to warn him not to cut me up and instead of braking he decided to sideswipe the cyclist. You can't blame me for someone else's impatient driving.

When you were turning right after black car had blocked the road you actually went in front of a cyclist who was wearing high vis. Should have given way. As for the truck driver at roundabout, the highway code says expect drivers of long vehicles to be in left lane for turning. I as a driver trainer of 32 years have seen this happen often and the car driver is usually at fault for not paying attention and going too fast.

Petey B The cyclist and van let him /her go. Otherwise the cyclist would've gone straight passed. Usually because the vehicle in front would let someone out. So the cyclist anticipated and noticed and also gave way :) Maybe that one wasn't too bad haha. As for trucks, do car instructors not warn people about how trucks turn? Or do a lot of drivers just forget?

We teach people about many things to make them safe drivers including dealing with trucks. Once they are let loose on the road it's their responsibility. If they take notice is another matter as the driver in the video demonstrated.

Note the national speed limit sign. It was coming out of a 50 zone into 70 so yes I was speeding up. I'd left the inside lane clear to let the Skoda merge and he should/would have seen me as I was ahead of him to start with but instead he decided to cut me up for my kindness.

Most of the situations didn't even involve me and we're observations of others. The ones that did were legit. It's easy to criticise but in the real world a driver is using mirrors, looking around and actually driving. Watching a front facing camera is much easier to anticipate and see things.

That isn't a dual carriageway. You stopped on a roundabout instead of just going round it because of that Lorry, then you went to turn off without looking and nearly hit that car. You were stuck in first yet still won't move out of lane 3, with nothing to the left in either lane. You're in the wrong lane quite often. You clearly don't/can't read the road ahead of you. All you're doing with your dash cam is showing your own, very obvious, deficiencies. Good one!

I don't. It's a common wrong assumption by a lot of people who have commented. If I am in the middle lane it is because either I have just overtaken someone and they are not far enough behind for me to pull back in (or there is still a car to my left), there is more traffic ahead that I will need to overtake and if I pull back in I will get blocked in (potentially hazardous to excessively change lanes) or I am in speed restrictions which state 'congestion stay in lane'. I like to think of myself as one of the good drivers who actually knows to keep left unless overtaking. Unfortunately, as these videos do not show the whole picture i.e. what is behind and to the side of me, it can appear that I am sometimes sat in the middle lane for no reason. I can assure you, this is not the case. Thanks for watching :-)

I don't boast that I am a super driver however your road user anticipation is so poor. Your examples of how not to merge could have been seen 3 days ago. You could see by the speed they entered the slip road that they were going to pull out into the middle. Maybe it's because I drive and ride a motorcycle that I am always thinking everybody is trying to kill me and I never assume the right of way. Also it's obvious that you are constantly touching the camera to save the clips. This is unsafe and should be discouraged

I think you need to anticipate more as to what a driver may do then it would make you are much safer one yourself. Too many motorist's are too quick at sounding the horn and speeding up in retaliation. Be the better man. 1:38 That is not a dual carriageway! The national speedlimit is 60 for country lanes I think someone needs to read the highway code. The road you did 70 on has an extra lane to overtake slower moving vehicles so they can overtake but this is separated by a solid white line so the road is still 2 way traffic Dual carriageways must have something to separate the flow of traffic such as trees, concrete/ metal barriers, a change in direction so the road splits off so traffic is no longer two way. Funny fact dual carriageways can even be single lanes and the limit is still 70mph.

Along with all of the other comments on here mentioning your own driving, these I agree with, one thing I couldn't help noticing was you appeared to adjust your dash cam every time someone in front of you didn't do something you liked. Whilst I agree that there are some bad drivers out there, what is the need to adjust your dash cam? Is this in the attempt to try to prosecute these drivers for not having the most squeaky clean driving, which follows suit with most other dash cammers who upload their videos on here, or is it just a nervous movement you do every time you come across people like that?

SalesDriven Doing 70mph wouldn't end the world, however, these bits of overtaking lanes are where the speed cameras or sneaky police speed checks tend to be, so you need to know what your maximum legal speed is. As the cross hatchings had broken white lines around them the Beetle driver didn't do anything illegal as he didn't cross the double white lines. However, his move was a bit pushy.
