I love raquet ball. I boxed and played rugby, but my brother was a pro squash player many moons ago. When I told him I'd started to play Raquet ball, he said it's Squash for fat people! 😳

I am a member of Coolhurst Tennis & Squash Club. We play this type of racquetball too. Good fun and a bit less wear and tear than squash so quite a lot of more mature members play it. Much better than not exercising.

Because the ball is heavier and has a different bounce to a squash ball so you need a racquet which is designed for a weightier ball.

am i allowed to say the obvious here. The guy in the orange shirt has all the skills but once he had a couple of tough rallies the extra weight he carries killed his fitness. A couple of stone lighter and he would be winning these games 9-2 or so. i have the same problem some times and have to work hard to be at my best weight. I would imagine he doesn't meet many who can give him a good game and therefore he doesnt have to move much to win. Bit of a catch 22 situation.

@@lovesracquetball123 this level of ball, is a ‘dunlop, black ball, double yellow dot’. This is the official racketball competition ball. The correct and official name for the sport is now ‘squash 57’ to distinguish between the American variant.(however, most players in Europe have ignored the new label, and continue to call in racketball). Balls can be found at PDH Sports in the UK, not sure where you get them outside the uk. Hope that helps. :))

John, this is the nationals for racketball (squash 57) in the uk, as played by nick matthew, daryl Selby and other ex pro’s. The standard is very high (suggest you watch tim vail). Also suggest you playing the nationals, and succeed in the final, before questioning the ability of players, and why they have taken part.

@@LarryMcFly yeap, that is, 1. squash court. 2. same type of rule "cant hit the ball lower than the limit put in the wall" 3. same mechanics. 4. only using the wrist to generate power. only difference, its that instead of using the right equipment, (squash racquets) they are using racquetball racquets. i been paying 29 years racquetball my dude, and i know the difference

Yes but theres a longer bounce time on the ball so rallies tend to be longer and its more even for players with knackered joints.
