UK Retrofit project smashes Passivhaus airtightness standard by achieving 0.48 AC/H @50Pa

This 1960s Lake District home was transformed from dated and draughty to modern and economical - achieving an airtightness result that beats the EnerPHit standard of 1.0 AC/H @50Pa and even surpasses the 0.6 AC/H @50Pa requirement for Passivhaus.

Agree with other comments. Would love to see more detail on this retrofit. Window detailing would be good to see and how they dealt with walls. IWI or EWI? Also, the cavity spacing and routing for the air ducting. Thanks again

Great video. Would like to see more of the airtightness measures taken and how the roof was insulated and what products from your catalogue that were used. I am embarking on this journey myself, in the UK and this house is near identical to ours, however the information to apply these measures is scattered across the internet with sometimes conflicting information.

Very interesting to see. It would be great to get a sense of the costings here (overall and per m2) as it is such a key aspect to retrofitting?

We provided many products with full technical support for this project. But, we don't have any further details on project costings. The Passivhaus designer was SRM Building Design and the contractor was 4Site Engineering and Construction Ltd.

I don't see any MVHR - how is the house ventilated?

There is an MVHR system, as necessary for all airtight buildings. The centralised unit is located near the backdoor. All the ducting from this is hidden behind panels so you would not know it was there.
