The UK isn't breaking up, no catastrophic economic crisis exists, the UK doesn't pay taxes when exporting goods to the EU, the UK was never in Schengen, the US isn't negotiating free trade agreements with any other country at the moment, and it's simply not correct to say that the UK economy hasn't grown since 2008.

I was having this discussion yesterday UK isn’t even top 12 richest country to live in and top 12 to live in public transport is too expensive wages for corporate jobs are lower compared to other developed nations they liken to use free healthcare as their excuse for poor wages

Simple truth is that UK lived beyond her means as looted wealth from colonies were pouring in. Now they have to face the music and real challenge without easy money from the coonies. Industrial growth also shifted to USA, other European contries, Japan, Korea, Chinese Tipe and the latest challenge frim China. Decoupling with China following American dictation made it still worse and lost any chance of recovery.

Your description that the US was "nowhere near Britain" is untrue. The US has surpassed the domestic economy of the UK in the 1870s. By the 1900s, the US economy was larger than the UK and the entire British Empire combined. And where do you get a map showing both India and portions of the US as part of the British Empire a hundred years ago? That never happened.

1870's ? wasn't that was just immediately after the American Civil War. The USA must've been quite the economic monster to be still formidable even in such a weakened state.
