The woman who received the womb has xx chromosomes, has the brain pituitary gland , working ovaries and hypothalmus of a woman so the hormone levels can be appropriate for menstruation and for maintaining a pregnancy. it isn't just a case of putting a womb in a male and hey presto they are pregnant, it's must more complex than that. It would be beyond sick if anyone tried it in a male and I hope there is law to prevent that.

Right. Men are turning men and women into the exact same thing. Our entire bodies and our brains are structured differently. They think we are just boobs, vaginas and estrogen and presto-woman. Complete disregard for FSH and FLH, bone structure, brain density and function, and that men do not possess the muscles and blood supply available to hold such organs in PLACE. Childbirth would send men into SHOCK and kill them. Women have GOT to have something in our brains that prevents that ungodly pain from killing us. It really IS that bad. Women who receive a non life giving transplant, ie. it's not to suppprt life of recipient, the uterus is only viable for maybe one or two pregnancies then it has to be removed. The whole thing is an ethical minefield.

Its not a permanent transplant. They take it out after child is born. Otherwise the recipient would need to be on harsh anti rejection drugs which mostly reduces life expectancy. Probably decades away from any geezer bird getting one!!

I wonder if the recipient would have to be on anti rejection drugs whilst pregnant, a cocktail of drugs that the baby would ingest as well. Lots of women cannot get pregnant, but this is just sick. The sister who gave the womb was only 40 years old and even when ovaries are left in place, many women who have the op go through menopause within 3 to 5 years. I could not imagine being so selfish and self absorbed about having a baby that I would want my sister to go through a major operation like a hysterectomy, especially if the cervix was taken as well and to live with the side effects of that operation for life.

Siblings do not share identical DNA not even regular twins do. Any cells that does not share your DNA will be flagged and attacked by every single type of immune cells in circulation. The only cells that are tricky enough to avoid that are the cancerous cells. However immune system cells and particular naturall killer cells play very important role to support the profilation of blood vessels around the invading blastocyst. Suppressing that might prevent successful implantation and survival for the first 3 months of pregnancy. Aggravated immune system might attack and destroy the embryo. The embryo signals to immune system that it is its own cell and to let it nest as half the dna matches the natural killer cells. For siblings this match will be 25 per cent at best. As for the transgender females transplant there is no way. Womb do not function as stand alone organ they function in synchrony with ovaries brain cervix and vagina. And you must have vagina for the baby to be inserted in the womb. Cutting a womb and placing embryo inside is lethally risky for both parties.

I dont think any type of organ transplants should happen, having worked in nhs theatres im retired now, ive seen all sorts of things , i have been called in at night a couple of times for organ harvests , it is the most dehumanising thing i have ever seen, especially the harvest of a childs organs , its macabre , 4 couriers sitting in the coffee room waiting for a piece , to go to whichever hospital , organs removed and divvied up , eyes removed , the deceased child looking like an empty shell , its desecration of a body at its worst . If people saw this for themselves i doubt they would carry a donor card or let deceased children be donors. Its a barbaric practise .

Oh well always bringing the trans thing into things the surgery isn't created for trans women at the moment it's meant for biological women and if in the future the procedure was to be able to be used on trans women you really think that's a problem, if a person is willing to go for a procedure like that I'm sure they are perfectly capable to look after a child because there's plenty enough women in the world that can have children and do not even look after them they might have their reasons but if someone wants to surgery They're gonna look after the child 🤷‍♀️
