That's THE OG MC Skibadee, the 3rd last freestyle on the track - he was the NUMBER 1 Drum n' Bass MC. He mentions it this freestyle Drum n'Bass is a purely unique UK sound that runs at 160 - 190 BPMs, has super fast breaks and heavy bass lines. If you can freestyle to Drum n' Bass you can rap to anything BUT not many can freestyle to Drum n' Bass!! Sadly he passed away recently at only 47 yrs old - his legendary freestyles at the BBC are something to really check out!

Totally agree, Skinnyman, Chester P and later the likes of Jehst don't get nearly enough credit man, I'm glad it's not just me out here banging that drum. Chester P "Greatest story ever told" is a growing up in the UK classic and skinnyman whole album "council estate of mind" was way ahead of it's time.

Rodney P is one of the originators, part of the legendary London Posse crew from the late 80s/early 90s Widely regarded as the first group to rap in a UK accent - the stuff before that was purely mirroring the cadence of the US

This is right at the end of the golden era. You have absolute OGs like rodney P, Chester P and Yungun (Essa). Then you have the next generation like Kano and Swiss coming through. Like the track or not, it's pivotal in the progression of thr scene.

Not sure there was progression. The UK rap scene act like UKHH never existed and UK rappers didn't exist before 2015. 1xtra and other radio ignore UKHH. It's ridiculous considering how dope the spitters are in UKHH.

@@iwgp4nagata That's because it was before social media and streaming. Everything since then left a footprint. There are plenty of MCs to rival the golden era today. Yeah, a lot of the new stuff is not good, but then again, so was a lot of the old stuff. I love the golden era, but I am biased.

@@kieronimo1 it's more than that. Why is there even a scene called UK rap? They deliberately went out of there way to distance themselves from UKHH. It's not the only reason but I do feel UKHH gets ignored as the scene is seen as too 'white' to be urban. I mean you have high focus records putting out tracks produced by legends such as DJ Premier and they are totally ignored by radio stations which claim to play UK rap music. It's absurd!!!

Check out 'Chester P The Greatest story ever told" a pure honest tune of growing up in Britain. An underrated classic IMO. Or check his beef with Wordsworth, a dis track where he records him apologising to Chester it's called"the bitches" if you like Chester P please check skinnyman and Jehst. The first two don't get nearly enough respect for what they done for the uk game. There would be no Giggs, Kano Akala etc without"Mud fam" Chester P and Skinnymans crew from the day's when black rappers were rapping in American accents FFS!!!

@BeersBars no offense to your scoring system its your channel and you gotta do you ,but i feel this is where lesser known / underground artists will not see air time because you wont get the level of requests you would as for well established or trending artists and your missing out on a goldmine of music as yet uknown to you and a larger audience . Appreciate you fam!!! Correct, we do calibrate the list sometimes, because if we air a lot of X-artist songs, they will automatically be requested more. We limit those to once a week. We definitely do feature a ton of smaller artists on the channel, and sometimes if they reach out to us personally and we feel it first the channel, we give them some airtime too.. + we have the beerfund which helps. We also have people that comment daily with requests, it takes a while, but they almost always get done 🍻
