There needs to be a 0.4mm version of this shredder to make rolling tobacco. I have the 0.8 one and that may be ok for making pipe tobacco but not quite good enough for rollies. 1 solution is to run the shreds back through the shredder, i tried that and you can get half decent rolling tobacco that way. For the money they're pretty good and way better and quicker than using scissors.

Hi,all this machine will last if you keep it clean from tar, soak it in soap water, after drying ,remove the plastic gear cover and put some greas on the gears, if the gears fail as mine did, after five years,remove one gear and let the one roler cutter free wheel, it will still work fine. dont overload it, finger and thumb opperation only.

very helpful comment, thanks! My roller is sticking so bad and I thought maybe it needed sharpening but couldnt find anything on how to do that so I am going to try your suggestion.

There's only one shredder we recommend and that is the Cuthof Swedish Tobacco Shredder.

I was given one of these as a present recently as I've started growing my own, but it's going to be a while before I can try it out as my plants are a massive 4 inch tall at the moment lol, has anyone stripped one of these down? I'm interested in taking the handle off and extending the stem so I can attach a small power drill to automate it, but the connecting bolt in the handle seems to be more of a rivet rather than a bolt or screw. If push comes to shove I'll drill and tap the rivet but would rather know if there is another way to dismantle it.
