Hi Shane, it’s like your own little tropical world with the large foliage. Definitely been a good year for rain and wind hasn’t it? Bananas and tetrapanax pulled through with their growth though. By the end of next summer you will be fully enveloped in the jungle! Glad your palms managed to come back from the dead for you. Great progress 🌱💞

Thank you lovely! What a show, especially as you said you hadn't fed all year, and the bank will look incredible when it comes in. Get yourself some creeping Jenny ground cover and plant along the hedgerow, it will grow towards the light, down the bank. and stop some of the weeds. It's such a bright and beautiful colour, it will look fantastic amongst your exotics. Also it will hold your soil in place. Thank you again, have missed you and your jungle 🥰

In the wild the Archontophoenix palms typically are understory plants as young palms and as they get larger/ taller and emerge out of the canopy they come more sun resistant. I noticed as my king palms grew taller and started getting a trunk they became more sun tolerant. You could plant a hardier acacia or eucalyptus for some evergreen canopy then put put the king plam under it in its pot. Then a few chamedoreas in the ground also the lady palm would do well.

Well done Shane, thanks for sharing, the garden is looking beautiful! That plant does look like a Sedum. However, is that the Ensete you were overwintering in the ground with straw last year? It looks amazing. What was the coldest temperature reached?
