I am pretty sure the effects of the magic fount the two lovers drank from was explained. I remember you couldn't just persuade them to leave.

Confirmed. There is only one way to make them want to leave, which is kinda dumb, but I remember liking UK1.

I'm sad that you didn't enjoy this one. It's one of my favorites from back in the day just because it was so different from everything else available. I like your idea of having the two families come together to hire the adventurers to bring back the kids. For the part in which you feel the players are handcuffed, couldn't you just ignore the enchantment that nerfs magic-users? The villagers can request that the PCs not loot and damage the garden, but the PCs can make a choice about what they want to do, risking the wrath of the Green Man (I can't remember how tough he is, but he could be scaled down to make it a fair fight if necessary). I tune in to your reviews because of your excellent suggestions to improve these old modules and it seems easy enough to jettison the parts of this adventure that you don't like and keep the things that are intriguing. You could also maybe give the PCs a decent chance to convince the kids to leave. Is there anything else that would need an overhaul?

When I posted my original UK2 & UK3 Mod Walkthrus, a commenter layed out the reasons for such claims, which were based on the names and allegories Graeme Morris used in those Mods. Once I saw what he was talking about, I could not unsee them. I could not dismiss them as "coincidences", or say "Hey, this is just a game." Actually, the commenter's claims were much worse, that (for KZbin purposes) I had to tone them down. In the future, I hope I will not need to make such warnings/disclaimers on any other D&D/RPG authors. Just as an aside, if any commenter were to make such claims against Gygax, I will tell them to f*** off.

​@RPGmodsFan ya, I looked the guy up, and no one else has said anything like that. I would caution you to really research stuff like that in the future, especially for these lesser known people. You have a fairly large presence on the internet, compared to know name people making comments. This could be a very damning accusation for anyone and if this person got a lawsuit in England you are guilty until proven innocent of all accusations. But I will say that although possible, always make sure you know what you're talking about because this guy could have just chosen some poor inspiration, remember ww2 wa only 40 years prior and may have been a large part of his life, or he might hate been a history buff like tolkien was.

It was really disappointing to see a “warning” in this video. Especially since we would not see a warning for anyone who was or is a communist, or had some other extremist views or leanings. We are just here for the reviews.

Sorry for the Warning. In my original review of the UK2 Mod, a Commenter told me things about Graeme Morris. Things that I was unaware of, and now when I look at the UK2 and UK3 Mods, I see what he was talking about, and cannot unsee them. Thus the Warning "carried over" to this walkthrough of the UK1 Mod.

@@RPGmodsFan Can you tell us what was said regarding UK2/UK3? Labeling a guy a Nazi sympathizer over something only you and one other person have noticed after decades seems really unfair. Without anything to back up your claims, I think you come out worse that Graeme Morris does. I really don't seek out your videos any more. I think you'd be doing yourself a favor if you just took this one down unless you are willing to back up your claims. If what you are saying is true, then I'm in favor of everyone knowing about it, but this isn't something someone can just say "trust me" over.

@@lichegate Sorry to hear that. I do not censor comments, but YT does. I have also experienced my comments being censored by YT when I leave them on others' YT videos. I checked my YT Studio, and there are no "Held for review" comments in them. So, it was not me. but YT that censored your comments. Unfortunately YT is not a platform for free speech.

@@lichegate This coming weekend, I will edit my UK Mod vids to trim out my comments on GM. Originally, the UK2 Mod was supposed to be a collab vid with another YT creator. But, that person dropped out. He was the one who suggested doing the UK2 mod, and, at the time, I was unfamiliar with the UK Mods and GM. By that time I have already done a lot of work on the Mod, so I release my DM Guide of it. Then a commenter came in and told me all about GM. I was going to Copy & Paste his comments here, but I see they were deleted? Or was it YT censoring them? In any case, since the inflammatory comments are no longer visible, I will trim out my comments on GM from the video.
